In this episode, we explain Pendle Finance and provide a rare guide to DeFi yield trading strategies within the increasingly popular protocol. Pendle was a breakout star in DeFi during the doldrums of the crypto bear market, and if you listen to the ethos behind TN Lee, you'll soon understand why. Pendle aims to reimagine the traditional finance interest derivative market, worth over $400 trillion in notional value, but instead as a trustless DeFi money lego, where anyone with a crypto wallet can execute yield strategies such as earning fixed yield or longing the stETH yield rate.

In this Quick Hit, we review EtherFi's Ethereum staking loyalty program: Ether.fan. EtherFi is a newer ETH liquid staking protocol launched in 2023 with a novel twist called their Early Adopter Program, which led the protocol to quickly attract $40M in staked ETH within the first 2 months on Ethereum Mainnet.
EtherFi is the only ETH liquid staking protocol where stakers retain control of their keys, which means that even if the protocol gets attacked or if the node operators get shut down, you can always get your ETH back.

In this Quick Hit, we review ETHx, Stader's new Ethereum LST just in time for its official launch today. Since 2021, Stader has developed 6 liquid staking solutions for Proof of Stake networks, including Polygon, BSC, Hedera, Fantom, and Near and once held just under $1B in staked LUNA prior to the collapse of UST. As a multichain liquid staking protocol, Stader spent the crypto bear market developing their flagship Ethereum LST--ETHx.
Given our previous coverage of Ethereum liquid staking such as Rocket Pool, we discuss and dissect why Stader opted for a hybrid design with both permissionless and permissioned node operators and why they believe it's the best model for scalable decentralized liquid staking. We also break down what we need to know as ETH LST holders who might hold ETHx vs potential node operators who can bond as little as 4 ETH (plus 0.4 ETH of SD tokens) to run an ETHx validator.
