Running a business with a partner is a unique journey filled with shared aspirations, hurdles, and accomplishments. Unlike the conventional image of a solo founder, women in partnerships have unique narratives to share. Your founder story is a powerful tool for shaping your brand, connecting with your audience, and inspiring others.
If you're in a business partnership, here are my tips for crafting your shared story:
Acknowledge Joint Success: Recognise that both of you are key to your business's success. Reflect on your journey together and appreciate each other's strengths.
Highlight Unique Contributions: Emphasise your unique strengths and what sets you apart. For example, in Tipperley Hill, it was a blend of Roz's love for painting and Abi's drawing skills.
Emphasise Collaborative Vision: Underline your shared vision, values, and mission. Explain how you came together with common goals.
Address Challenges Together: Be candid about the obstacles you've faced and how your partnership has been key to overcoming them.
Celebrate Milestones: Share your achievements as co-founders, from successful launches to customer feedback. Highlight how your partnership contributed to these successes.Your founder story isn't just about your business; it's also a means to connect with your audience personally. Share anecdotes and experiences that reveal your passion and commitment to your business, allowing your audience to glimpse the real people behind the brand.
