Beverly Johnson is one of the world's most recognizable supermodels. In 1974, she rose to fame after becoming the first Black model to appear on the cover of American Vogue magazine. She is an International Ambassador for the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, an organization dedicated to significantly improving the lives of people with Down syndrome through research, medical care, education and advocacy.
Each year, Global presents the "Be Beautiful Be Yourself" fashion show, an elegant event featuring celebrity guests, models and ambassadors. In 2023, Johnson attended the event with her niece, Natalie Fuller, who made an impressive appearance on the runway.
Listen to my talk with Beverly Johnson and Natalie Fuller, as they discuss the importance of Global's work, and the impact the organization has on people with Down syndrome and their families.
This year, the "Be Beautiful Be Yourself" Fashion Show will be held at the Sheraton Hotel in Downtown Denver on Saturday, November 16, 2024. For tickets and additional event information, visit http://www.bebeautifulbeyourself.org.
