  • Isaiah | Lesson 55: Promises of Salvation

    Isaiah 55:8

God’s work is always accomplished in the fullness of His time. This is a hugely important principle in the life of a believer. We look at six reasons, from our perspective, that God may delay to answer prayer. We also see four things in verse eight, that God the Father will do in and through God the Son, Messiah. In particular, the restoration of the Promised Land is in view here.

  • Isaiah | Lesson 54: The Lord's Full Intention

Isaiah 55:6-7Through the Messiah, the Father wants to save more than just the Jews; He wants all the gentiles to come to salvation as well. We see that the atonement is unlimited in scope. We note that although the text says Messiah will be rejected, even despised and abhorred, that one day He will rule over heaven and earth, both in the Millenium and into eternity. We look at what the Scripture means when it says Jesus “emptied” Himself.

  • Isaiah | Lesson 53: Messiah, The Perfect Redeemer

Isaiah 49:3-5Jesus Messiah is seen as the idealized Israel in the passage. Whatever Israel failed to do or to be as God’s representatives in their humanness, Jesus did perfectly. He was a light to all nations, glorified God, and served His Father perfectly in all things, and He was the actual means of atonement for sin. Nonetheless, we see that Jesus went through frustrations, sorrow, discouragement, and anger at human sin. Yet, we see that a right perspective on who God is can make all the difference in this life. Also, a wonderful perspective on the Trinity is revealed here.

  • Isaiah | Lesson 52: God the Father & God the Son Converse About His Coming

Isaiah 49:1-2Jesus, Messiah, Son of God speaks in these verses, telling us about His conversation with God the Father. Numerous prophetic ideas are presented here which we see fulfilled in the New Testament in Christ. He will be born from the womb of a woman, He will speak unmitigated truth and even bring judgment someday. The Lord God will protect His Son until the exact right time for His redemptive death. We look at some Old Testament prophecies which give with extraordinary accuracy information about Messiah's life and death.

  • Isaiah | Lesson 51: The Lord God Calls ALL To Salvation

    Isaiah 45:22-25

The Lord unequivocally calls all humans to salvation while reminding us that there is no other God and no other salvation. We do note that whether humans are ultimately saved or not, every knee shall bow and every tongue acknowledge that He alone is God. Paul actually quotes this verse in Philippians chapter two. We see that by three truths in verse twenty-three that God's words are unconditionally true: He has sworn by Himself, He speaks in righteousness, and His word will not turn back. The Lord makes a clear reference to the church in verse twenty-five, as the "offspring of Israel" which will be justified and will glory in Him.

  • Isaiah | Lesson 50: God's Challenge to Idolaters

Isaiah 45:19-21God's creation is planned and purposeful, designed and structured solely according to His will and desire. He says that His purposes are not a secret! In this passage the Lord challenges the idolaters to make their case for their idols, to prove they exist! In response to that, we look at four realities that the Lord speaks: He speaks only truth, He speaks only what matters, He speaks what we could never figure out on our one, and He speaks wisdom.

  • Isaiah | Lesson 49: God Alone is the Savior of Israel

    Isaiah 45:13-18

The Lord speaks again about Cyrus and how He will use Medo-Persia to deliver God's people. The seventy years captivity in Babylon will end precisely as it was prophesied to end even down to the exact year. We see prophetic hints of Messiah's ministry through God's use of Cyrus, but also the putting to shame of nations who reject the Lord and His Messiah. Yet again God makes an absolute claim to being Creator of all things- a major theme in Isaiah.Like and follow us on...

  • Isaiah | Lesson 48: The Lord Addresses the Jews About Righteousness and Salvation

    Isaiah 45:8-12

God speaks to two absolutely essential matters that have never changed on His priority list: righteousness and salvation. He says that His righteousness is unchanging and His desire is for salvation to be known everywhere on the earth. Again God points to His position as creator of all things as evidence that He should be obeyed, not doubtfully questioned. He takes certain Jews to task over the matter of questioning His methods. His conclusion is, "Just trust Me!"Like and follow us on...

  • Isaiah | Lesson 47: Why God Used Cyrus

The Lord tells us why He will raise up Cyrus, in a prophecy given more than one-hundred-fifty years in advance of its fulfillment! The purpose is to bring about the restoration of the Jews to their land after the seventy year Babylonian captivity. The Lord also makes it clear that He is unique, that He is all-powerful, that He is the one and only Creator, that He can cause both well-being and calamity!

  • Isaiah | Lesson 46: The Lord Tells How He Will Use Cyrus to Accomplish His Good Purposes

    Isaiah 45:1-3

The Lord God will even give hidden riches to Cyrus, which history tells us literally happened! The Lord assures us that nothing is Hidden from Him and there is no lack of power or knowledge with God. He can use whoever He wants for whatever He desires at any time it pleases Him to do so.
