“Why Panama?” I get this question every day, especially in a world where the word “expat” is still often associated with countries like the UAE, Portugal, Singapore, and others. It was not an easy decision, and it was not one my wife and I took lightly. It seems like every day, a Private Client or subscriber to our newsletter asks me about El Salvador. Is a decentralized revolution occurring in El Salvador? That's exactly what today's guest, Dr. Jack Kruse, who currently lives and practices medicine in El Salvador and has served as an advisor to Nayib Bukele, joins me to discuss.

Dr. Jack Kruse, a neurosurgeon, had an awakening in 2007 when he suffered a torn meniscus in his knee at 6’2”, 357 lbs. This led to his further study of physics, light, magnetism, and electricity, ultimately concluding that modern medicine lacked a deep understanding of how humans function in relation to the natural world.

This was certainly a fascinating discussion, and Dr. Kruse is a super interesting guy. I often discussed how longevity has always been a hobby of mine, and Dr. Kruse certainly gave me a lot to think about. His insights on Nayib Bukele’s plan to decentralize El Salvador definitely piqued my interest. While I’m not ready to recommend clients choose El Salvador for their own Plan-B, it is certainly a country worth keeping an eye on in the coming years.
