I think we all know...
some of the basic benefits of blogging.
Creating consistent content boosts your SEO, helps those who are looking for a therapist find the right one, and adds a depth to your website that wouldn’t exist otherwise.
But blogging also helps you further the narrative of your practice. It builds your brand and establishes you as an authority.
It allows you to thoroughly explain how you work, what your values as a clinician are, and how you bring about transformation in your clients' lives. Blogging gives your potential clients a place to investigate you further. To feel normal and to trust that you truly can help them find the respite, peace, change, or healing they are so desperately seeking.
In this episode, I’m diving into the more profound side of blogging and the ways it not only makes you marketable but builds rapport before a client ever sits on your couch.

Business building has a tendency...
to take over our lives.
Seriously, I think anyone with an entrepreneurial spirit has a bit of tunnel vision and therapists in private practice are no exception.
And while there is a special flavor of dopamine that comes from surpassing business goals, chasing the high that comes with a successful practice can often lead us to forget about the other areas of our lives that are important.
Maybe for you, that means scheduling sessions on weekends when you’d rather be with your family and friends. Or evenings that cause you to miss the championship game, the engagement party, or the promotion ceremony.
Something I think we need to pay more attention to is the balance we can achieve when we set boundaries.
So in this episode, I’m exploring what boundaries I’ve set in my own business, which I’m still chasing, and how I’m working on my mindset.

There are a lot of opportunities...
to maximize the revenue you bring in from your online income stream.
If you’ve spent any time in the online space learning about “passive” income, you’ve likely heard the phrase that “the money is in the list” - the email list that is. And while I 100% agree with this sentiment, there is an often overlooked element of your email list that can start making you passive dollars quickly and before you have a huge audience.
In fact, by implementing a tripwire, you are essentially being paid to grow your audience.
What’s a tripwire? The most simple explanation is that it is a super low-price, almost no-brainer, purchase that you offer for sale right off the back of someone signing up to your email list.
And in this episode, I’m sharing how I’ve made a quick $1000 from a single tripwire upsell, whether you need to use ads for this strategy, and how to start making money online organically.

There is a difference...
between hands-off selling and hands off delivery.
When it comes to scaling your private practice, there is a real draw about moving beyond 1:1 therapy clients. Which is what is so appealing about creating an online income stream.
The term passive income is used as a kind of blanket term for any type of online income. However, setting up funnels and systems for bringing in revenue is not the same thing as never showing up for your online audience. I firmly believe in automation and know there is a time and place in any business, whether online or brick-and-mortar, to audit your procedures and streamline them. But imagining that you can set up a single funnel, one-time, never touch it again and become a multi-millionaire is just not how it works.
There are definitely online income streams that are more passive than others, and I happily share how to sell a $27 ebook on autopilot, but if your goal is to create and sell a signature course or coaching problem, you’re going to need to have much more of a presence in your online business.
In this episode, I'm bursting the bubble around 'making money in your sleep' and getting real about the time and financial investment it takes to maintain an online income stream.

In today’s episode, we are talking about next level marketing. Especially email marketing, how to make friend with search engines and how to build your passive income strategy.
There comes a time...
As you build your private practice, that you are going to become a pretty great marketer.
Now, if you’re new to private practice, or new to treating your practice more like a business, this can feel like a far off pipe dream. But trust me. In the not-too-distant future, you are going to have the basics that I cover in most of my podcast episodes down.
Which is when taking your marketing to the next level makes sense. That’s not to say you need to rely on tons of complicated strategies to fill your caseload. In fact, I argue the opposite.
But after you’ve been growing your business for a while, you will want to systematize and streamline some of your outreach. And a great way to do this is through email marketing.
What’s more, when you get to the point of scaling beyond 1:1 work, an email list will be an invaluable asset to researching and selling your online course, coaching program, or membership site. In this episode, I’m sharing a few ways to use email to market your practice and beyond.
This is for the women who have mastered their Holy Trinity: great website, consistent content, social promotion. If you’re ready to dive deeper into marketing strategy, this episode is for you!

It’s no secret…
that as psychotherapists in private practice we have a bit of a competitive streak. We’re ambitious and our aspirations matter to us.
But, that does not mean we have to give in to the pressure to build bigger therapy practices faster…You do not have to build a group practice that feels more like a conglomeration that a place that helps people. You do not have to see so many clients your eyes cross by the end of the day, and you don’t have to squeeze them all in back-to-back so you hardly have any time left in the day to pee let alone eat a decent lunch, do your notes, or take a little bit of down time to decompress.
In fact, there is a stealthy movement in the marketing world that is starting to combat this idea of more is more. Slow marketing is all about congruence. About building the private practice that is right for you and promoting it in a way that makes sense for those of us who have big goals but also have big hearts.
Being intentional and authentic in your marketing PAYS! In this episode, I share my success with the Slow Marketing Method. Slow marketing throws out the pressure to perform on social. Instead, the focus is on crafting an honest message that converts ideal clients. I also talk about the three marketing techniques and how to properly use them.
