As your business evolves and grows, we all want to showcase this by highlighting our backstory. Where we have come from and how we got to this point can be held close to the hearts of many business owners and help us connect with customers. However, this backstory alone may not be as effective as winning over customers as some may think.
In this episode, James and Michael talk through the topic of having a brand backstory with some examples of companies who have utilised this well to win business, but also some of the pitfalls when focusing heavily on the company's origin. They discuss as to how effective using this backstory can really be when trying to get sales or customers and why, although this backstory certainly has its place, showcasing your company's ongoing and evolving story can be more useful in keeping your customers engaged and interested in your brand.
