The four different types of thoughts:1. The unconscious narrative of the ego: when this is identified with it causes unnecessary suffering. To be free from this suffering investigate who or what witnesses the narrative (clue - it's not a thought).2. Useful thoughts: this is what the mind is designed to do. Allows us to study science, learn languages, arrange appointments. All of this happens in the present moment and it is possible to use the mind as a tool while simultaneously recognizing one's true nature as pure awareness.3. Thoughts born from higher consciousness: when awakening happens consciousness infuses every aspect of one's being - the physical, energetic and also mental plains. On the mental level thoughts spontaneously appear which are aligned with higher consciousness. They are usually centered around wisdom, gratitude and appreciation.4. The mature aspect of the mind: during the awakening process the mind usually splits itself into a new part, the spiritual 'me'. This aspect of the mind understands the teachings on a mental level and is aligned with the heart's desire to awaken. It wants to help and supports the awakening process by spontaneously interjecting 'reminder' thoughts of the teachings.
