We talk quite a bit this week about the trial of the murder of George Floyd. Former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin has been convicted of the murder on all charges. We talk about the case, the reactions, & what this could mean going forward. Also, the NRSC has made up an award called the “Champion of Freedom,” which they gave to their favorite demagogue, Donald Trump.

Other topics include Big Dan Rodimer’s chameleon campaigning, COVID vaccine deniers, & how closely the far right resembles Gilead from The Handmaid’s Tale.

  • Blessed Be the Florida, May the Wings Open

    Major spoilers ahead…

This week’s episode will be a bit shorter. Our biggest topic today is Disney+ series The Falcon & the Winter Soldier. We discuss parts of the 1st four episodes, & warn once again that spoilers are ahead. We also discuss some possible backlash the show has faced. We also discuss the Hulu series, The Handmaid’s Tale, whose 4th season begins very soon. To avoid spoilers, cut to our next topics.

More Florida messiness here! We talk about how Matt Gaetz & a Florida lobbyist are being investigated for possibly using a phantom 3rd candidate in a State Senate race to help rig the election. This was shown to have been this case in a South Florida race as well as several others in Florida in 2020.

“Amendment Time” comes through with the 25th Amendment! This Amendment addresses succession to the presidency, as well as gives procedures for filling vacancy of VP & for responding to presidential disabilities.

  • The Propagondola

    Throw me a frickin’ bonus!

So much going on, we had to bring you more! The new Georgia voting law has had lots of backlash, most notably Major League Baseball choosing to remove their 2021 All-Star Game from Atlanta. This sent Republicans all across the country into a frenzy crying “cancel culture” & continuing to claim the laws actually expand voter access (spoiler alert: not really).

We also talk about the Million Maskless March in Fort Lauderdale run by ReOpen South Florida, who was also behind a maskless “flash mob” inside a Target, alleging “freedom of choice” despite taking exactly that from the mask-wearing shoppers. Also, Trump’s campaign duped supporters out of entire savings through discreet autopay, & even manipulated supporters into continued funding.

Other topics include big companies vs worker unions, sold out Rangers/Blue Jays season opener aka we may never escape this, & a couple of baseball game stories.

  • I Like This, I Don’t Like That

Black Sheep does not approve of this remix…

On today’s episode, we talk about how the family of Paul Gosar, representative for Arizona’s 4th district, have continuously called Gosar out for his support for the Big Lie regarding the 2020 election, as well as his general lack of competency in serving the people of Arizona. We also discuss far-right hate monger Nick Fuentes, who thinks the GOP isn’t hateful & extreme enough.

Ron DeSantis is at it again! Not only does he have a lucrative relationship with Publix involving donations & vaccinations, but he’s banning requirements for COVID passports because it’ll “create two classes of citizens.” Someone oughta introduce him to a history book. Also, Fox News’s very own Greg Gutfeld has cornered the conservative late night comedy market with his new show, GUTFELD! It’s every bit as cringeworthy as it sounds.

Other topics include (more) shifty Florida Republican politicians, Ann Coulter’s opposition toward D.C.’s statehood, & the far-right & conservative media using Trump’s clout to build their audiences.

This week’s “Amendment Time” features the 24th Amendment. This amendment prohibits taking away voting rights due to non-payment of poll tax or any other tax, which had been prominently used in the Jim Crow South to inhibit voting rights for Black Americans.

  • Florida Man Can’t Stop, Florida Man Won’t Stop

    Look out Black & Decker…

Florida stays on the madness! Congressman Matt Gaetz is under DOJ investigation regarding an unlawful intimate relationship as well as possible involvement in sex trafficking. Gaetz denies this & insists it is a smear campaign. Elsewhere in Florida, some people are mad about their favorite Civil War & school name “icon” being removed from the name of a school (spoiler alert: racism).

We talk about Lil Nas X coming under criticism for use of Satanic imagery in his new music video & new shoes, plus South Dakota governor Kristi Noem signing executive orders to exclude trans-women from women’s sports in school, & Lauren Boebert swaps the gun background for a bookshelf to claim that fists & feet kill more people than guns Other topics include slavery, Sidney Powell’s hilarious defense against defamation lawsuits, & the fate of the original 33rd episode.

This week’s “Amendment Time” showcases the 23rd Amendment. This amendment granted electoral votes to Washington, DC, but only as many as the least populated state, which has 3.

  • Filibusted: 60 Items or Less

    Coming to a C-SPAN near you…

We’re talking about the big COVID relief act known as the American Rescue Plan Act. We talk about what’s in it, what’s not, who hates it, who loves it, who’s trying to take credit, & who’s whining on TV about it. This bill will help a ton of Americans who are really hurting, but that doesn’t stop the right-wing politicians & media from doing what they do. Later, we talk about the filibuster, its ugly history & impudent design, & why it is nothing more than an roadblock to progress (spoiler alert, it’s racially charged).

We also talk about the murders committed by an unhinged terrorist who targeted Asian women, & the asinine attempts by law enforcement to infantilize him. Other topics include Eminem vs Gen Z, Degrassi’s floating timeline, & the tragic passing on Degrassi actor Jahmil French earlier this month.

This week on “Amendment Time,” it’s the 22nd Amendment! This one created official term limits following the four presidential victories of FDR.

  • Cruise Like A Butterfly, Crash Like A Bee

Wear a seatbelt when you listen to this…

We return after a week off to bring y’all the madness. The Dr. Seuss estate has decided to cease publishing 6 of the author’s books that they deemed unfit for the times, & the right wing has lost it, invoking “cancel culture” like always. We discuss this, as well as the 8 Democratic senators who voted with the Republicans in efforts to keep $15 federal minimum wage off the American Rescue Plan.

The GOP has voter suppression fever (again)! They’re showing where their priorities lie with bills in 43 states to make voting harder, with their tactics designed to target the working class & especially people of color, in a desperate measure to hold onto their power. In the midst of this, we discuss the For the People Act, which aims to expand voting rights & protect them on a federal level. Other topics include Piers Morgan’s tantrum over Meghan Markle, President Biden speaking against workplaces pushing against unions, & investigation into Elaine Chao’s corruption.

On “Amendment Time,” we complete the Prohibition saga with the 21st amendment. This amendment repealed the 18th amendment, the only one ever to do such a thing, & made legal once again the sale, transportation, & manufacture of alcohol in our country.

  • When Nature Messes with Texas

    It’s… a bad time…

We’re talking quite a bit today about the Texas storms & subsequent power crisis. Texans have been hurting as a result of these storms coupled with the state’s leadership’s commitment to keeping their power grid deregulated. This prioritization of profits over people has lead to many deaths & millions without food, water, or warmth. We also talk about right-wing responses, especially that of Cancun Cruz, the so-called Senator of the Lone Star State.

We reminisce about children’s shows we used to watch, such as Arthur, The Big Comfy Couch, & Teletubbies. Also, the fancy insurrection-themed dinner to endorse Senator Mike Lee, & the hilarious irony of why Lee even needs the endorsement of “special guests” Matt Gaetz & Lauren Boebert.

This week on “Amendment Time”, we’ve got the 20th Amendment. This one change the dates of term beginnings & endings for certain offices. Originally both transition on March 4th of the year after the election, the Congress & the Presidency transition on January 3rd & January 20th of the following year, respectively. This was done the reduce the length of the “lame duck” period in such offices.

  • So Far Right, It’s Far Wrong

Like a car with no left turn signal…

In this episode, we talk about how Dave Chappelle has been gotten back the rights to the license & show name for his seminal hit series “Chappelle’s Show” from ViacomCBS & Comedy Central, & is now being paid residual income, making right the bad deal he got those years ago.

We discuss more right-wing media madness. From Tucker Carlson blaming green energy for Texas’s situation with the ice storms, to Greg Kelly claiming only one person died in the Capitol insurrection, it’s a never ending circus. But the cake goes to Judge Jeanine Pirro, who went on a wild rant about school’s reopening, all the while downplaying the virus’s effect on children as well as damning teachers and unions.

We also talk about Trump’s impeachment trial & subsequent acquittal. We discuss the 7 Republican Senators who voted to convict him & the backlash they’ve received from their own side. Other topics include a Westside Gunn-themed Valentine’s card, & a certain catchphrase in Degrassi.

On this week’s “Amendment Time,” it’s all about the ladies. We cover the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. We give a little bit of history too.
