The Geek Down

We're talking VOID BASTARDS - a rogue-y FPS that's fun, pretty, cheeky, and hates you more than Voldemort with a hemorrhoid. Then it's TOY STORY 4: Woody, Buzz and the rest of the gang can't save a toy and need saving themselves, so the ultimate badass comes to their rescue -- Bo Peep??? Another blast from the past, we discuss the SNK 40TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION and how *easy* and *forgiving* old arcade games were. Since we're feeling nostalgic, THE RIDE: BURNING DESIRE celebrates 15 years of the comic by revisiting it's first stars. In Nexflix's JINN, the fate of humanity lies in the hands of 5 angsty preppies... what could possibly go wrong?

This week our episode covers some local Beyond Wrestling: Uncharted Territory fun, we preview the NJPW G1 Climax field ahead of the tournament starting next month, and Dennis would rather play video games than watch Sunday's WWE Stomping Grounds, but he's a professional godammit! So I know he's gonna watch it anyway, no matter how bad it hurts.

There's a rogue cop, a vicious killer, potential drugs, attempted sex, and weaponized Sriracha sauce in STUBER. Jean Grey's lost her goddamn mind, in XMEN: DARK PHOENIX! Sure to be a finale just as powerful and satisfying as the final 'Game of Thrones.' ( Sophie Turner just can't win! ) Sam Jackson's back in the sequel to the sequel that ignores the other sequels and nobody asked for in the first place, SHAFT! Then MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL brings decorated Agent H and determined rookie M in the midst of a galaxy-ending plot in this sequel/reboot/elseworld/parallel/continued story.

The Bat Family and the Green Machine match wits with Arkham inmates and The Foot. There's a drug-trip joke in there, but I'M not gonna make it :p -- We're talking BATMAN VS TMNT. Not far from there (in the same city, even), can Mindy Kaling form a bond and save a talk show host from herself? We'll see in the new comedy LATE NIGHT! And that's not the only relationship that needs saving, as a single bromance could be the one thing staving off the apocalypse in GOOD OMENS. Need a palate-cleanser from all the feels? NXT TAKEOVER XXV has just the high-flying, bone-breaking, folding-ladder-to-the-groin action you need!

In the house: Shayna Wakefield, Pat B, Jere Pilapil, with guest Supawoke Javi

We're talking about NXT Takeover (AKA the greatest thing either of us have ever seen). We get a little into the NJPW Best of Super Juniors finals. And finally, were not watching WWE's Super Showdown this weekend, but Dennis came up with some fun ideas for what might be going on there!

CASSANDRA CHARLES joins us to talk Old School Game Show, UCOB, and various matters of being the HNIC. GODZILLA: KING OF THE MONSTERS earns his title the hard way. In the house: Shayna Wakefield, Pat B, with guest Cassandra Charles, Ripley & Eric Summers

The kids are too busy being gay and doing crimes to be alright in Olivia Wilde's directorial debut, BOOKSMART. Getting a do-over means literally life or death in the Netflix film SEE YOU YESTERDAY, produced by Spike Lee. Nonye Brown-West joins us to talk Gryffindor Potter-lore and Hogwartz hijinks with POTTER PROM on the horizon.

PROJECT WINTER shows the cold brings out the worst in people. And WWE's MONEY INTHE BANK will test superstar's limits and audience's patience!

In the house: Shayna Wakefield, Pat B, JM, Jere Pilapil, Rocco Pepe with guests Nonye Brown-West (@ThatNonye) & Alesha Gunn

WHAT A WEEK it's been in wrestling! Jere and Dennis tackle All Elite Wrestlings debut show, Double or Nothing. Was it worth the $50 pay per view price? Thank goodness this episode is sponsored by Springs in a Can, then can that isn't snakes! With the rise of a viable competitor to WWE, we also talk about times of change in wrestling: the rise and fall of WCW, pipebomb promos, indies, ECW, you name it. Gosh a darny.

This week, we talk a little about Money in the Bank and the Best of Super Juniors before we get into comedy wrestling and then things get WEIRD. Yum yum chocolate goldfish.
