Former Seattle Seahawks offensive tackle Chad Wheeler has pleaded not guilty to criminal charges of first-degree domestic violence assault, domestic violence unlawful imprisonment and resisting arrest.

Wheeler entered the plea during an arraignment at King County's Maleng Regional Justice Center. He was ordered to remain in Washington on electronic home detention with a GPS-equipped ankle monitoring device as a condition of his pretrial release. Wheeler was previously ordered to have no contact with Alleah Taylor and to surrender any weapons.

Wheeler has a case-setting hearing scheduled for Feb. 11, according to a spokesperson with the King County prosecutor's office. His trial is scheduled for April 6.

On January 13, 2021, at approximately 9:40 p.m., a female was shot at the One Stop Shop on St. Clair Avenue near East 101st Street in the city’s Glenville neighborhood. That female was 32 years old, Andrea Randle. Andrea was shopping inside the store when she put her phone down on the counter, according to police. A man grabbed her phone. This caused Andrea to chase the man for about three blocks. When the man turned, he shot several times. One in her head, according to police. When officers arrived, Randle was on the sidewalk in the 700 block of E. 95th Street suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. EMS rushed her to University Hospitals, where she was pronounced dead.

Five days after she was shot while traveling in a car with her family, who were on their way to do holiday shopping, a 7-year-old Atlanta girl has died. Police don't believe the family's vehicle was the shooter's target. Kennedy sustained a gunshot wound to the back of her head. The shooting took place near Phipps Plaza, an Atlanta-based shopping center.

Lead investigator Lt. Pete Malecki identified the suspect as Daquan Reed, 24 of Virginia, and said they have secured warrants for his arrest on felony murder charge. He is also facing charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and reckless conduct.

An Oklahoma man accused of gunning down a Black woman over the weekend told detectives he did it to “teach her a lesson” and said he was glad he’d done it, authorities said. Shane Dale Perosi, 30, of Enid, is charged with first-degree murder in the death Sunday of Martika Ferguson. Perosi is also charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and destruction of evidence.

The family of a 16-year-old girl who was shot to death at a downtown Atlanta hotel this past holiday weekend wants to know why she was there and why others have not also been charged in the case. Kalecia Williams, 16, was found in the lobby of the Hyatt Regency located at 265 Peachtree Street NE in the downtown hotel district around 12:27 a.m. on Saturday morning suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the groin, police said. Destiny Washington of Trussville, Alabama, was shot to death on Thursday, December 17, in a parking lot just outside of the Hill Student Center, according to Birmingham police. Washington, who was taking classes at Lawson State Community College through a joint admission program with UAB, had arranged with her boyfriend to meet 22-year-old Carlos Stephens on campus to sell him a pair of AirPods, AL.com reported.

On Saturday, a DPS trooper noticed a white Honda speeding eastbound on I-10 in Chambers County around 7:45 a.m. That's when the trooper pulled him over near FM-365, but the driver, Victor Campbell Jr. from Fresno, Texas, immediately sped off, sparking the chase. The chase ended when 35-year-old Campbell crashed near a church resale shop parking lot, according to DPS Lt. Chuck Havard.

While troopers were searching the car, they found the body of 28-year-old Briana Teirra Johnson from Houston in the trunk. DPS has not yet released the exact cause of death, but a full autopsy has been ordered.

Campbell faces charges for felony evading arrest, driving while intoxicated, tampering with evidence, and abuse of a corpse. He was not charged with Murder! Additional felony charges may be added, police said.

A pregnant woman who was fatally shot outside a Paterson apartment complex last week told emergency workers it was her boyfriend who had attacked her, according to a city official. Remy Lee was found about 1:30 p.m. Thursday bleeding from multiple gunshots on the ground between two parked cars at the Brooks-Sloate Terrace apartments on Christina Place.

“It was my baby father,” the 31-year-old woman said to EMS workers, according to an official close to the police department. “It was my baby father.” Lee, who was eight months pregnant, was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where she gave birth to a girl before dying of her injuries. Lee’s due date was Nov. 17, according to her baby registry. The infant was in stable condition at the hospital last week and expected to survive, officials said. A 25-year-old man has been charged with the murders of his girlfriend, her mother, and her sister during a domestic dispute outside his home in Auburn Gresham this summer.

John Matthews was ordered held without bail Friday afternoon on three counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Shonta Harris; her mother, 56-year-old Frances Neal; and her sister, 27-year-old Jasmine Neal.

At Matthews’ bail hearing, Cook County prosecutors said Matthews and Harris had been dating for two years, and had a 4-month-old son together, although they were living in separate homes about a mile away from each other.

A 21-year-old Miami woman who had her life ahead of her, instead had it taken away on Friday morning. Police said Jackisha Bayard was lured outside of her home by her boyfriend. Whatever she thought would happen was just a ploy to shower her with gunfire, according to Miami police.

That was around 7:45 a.m. By day's end Bayard had succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds to her chest and torso while her 22-year-old boyfriend, Gregory Brown Jr. was charged with her murder.
