The Give Me Five Podcast: An Uncultured Look at Pop Culture and Nostalgia

On Halloween night Greg wanted to find something new to watch, but it was a little late, then he happened on Truth Seekers, the new Nick Frost / Simon Pegg (Spaced, Shaun of the Dead) show streaming on Amazon Prime. It is the perfect blend of suspense, sci fi, horror and comedy. Ron grabbed the game Cobra Kai, which plays just like one of your favorite fighting games from the 90s, and Jimmy and Rob checked out Polish horror film Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight.

Next Monday, check out side B when we cover the pinnacle of giant murderous demon turkey films, Thankskilling!

It's finally here! One of our favorite book series for kids The Babysitter's Guide to Monster Hunting has finally hit Netflix. We discuss the film, the tone, changes made from the book and if it is safe for kids.

Then we go virtual, with a review of the Oculus Quest 2. Is it fun? A Gimmick? (spoiler: Its excellent) Then we take a look at another Netflix film, Vampires vs The Bronx, in which a group of kids and families from The Bronx have to fight of vampires and gentrification.

Next Monday, check out side B when we cover another water themed creature feature, 1980's Humanoids From the Deep (or is it The Darkness Beneath?)

Pretty cool thing happened this week. I asked the Blue Oyster Cult if we could play a bit of their brand new song Florida Man, and they agreed. It was a short and sweet "OK". So we did. The song rules and you should check it out.

We also had a lot of Halloween fun this week. season "2" of Haunting of Hill House came out, this time an adaptation of Turn of the Screw, called Haunting of Bly Manor. Will it live up to the first? We had a ton of fun with Hubie Halloween. And Jimmy got a chance to check out a movie that mentions him, Never Hike in the Snow. All this and some Disney theater news and a real like Spider Cat.

Next Monday, check out side B when we cover a lost slasher from 1984, The Mutilator... or is that Fall Break... or is it the Mangler?

Last week we covered a lot of ground and a lot of streaming shows. This week we change it up. First we mourn the passing of Guitar Legend Eddie Van Halen.

For the Star Wars fans, we've got Star Wars Squadrons a fun flight simulator battle game. We also cover the next dresden Files book, Battleground, which is weird since we just covered the previous one like 2 weeks ago. Rob also takes us on a trip to Howl-O-Scream, one of the halloween events actually happening this year.

Oh and next week, check out side B when we cover the "best worst movie" Troll 2!
