It's time to take in some news about what's happening on golf courses around the country and I also give an update of some Aussie golf tournaments that have been televised recently. There's also some news of architecture appointments and time for a chat about my recent mini golf experience.

It's time I caught up with friends of the podcast Loch & Leesh from Finding Fairways for a good old fashioned yarn about their trip driving around the enormous island of Australia playing golf!

You might recall I chatted to Loch & Leesh back in EP.21 as they had just embarked on their 5 month trip around Australia in a campervan playing golf just about anywhere they could find a course. Well this time post trip, they recount their adventure upon returning home to Sydney and take us all along with them! From secret hidden outback courses, to the expanse of the world's longest golf course and the welcoming locals they met along the way, their adventure is sure to get your travel bug up and wriggling looking for your next golf trip!

Time to introduce a new segment to the podcast and what better way to do it than with my podcast partner Australian Turf Analysis. The idea behind this segment is to talk about some of the new technology available to the greenkeeping industry to help maintain golf courses.

You've probably already heard the ads on my podcast as part of our partnership but this time i get to dive deep with John Legge the man behind Australian Turf Analysis. We discuss just how this new drone technology works and how it's helpful to greenkeepers in their quest to deliver better playing surfaces year round. With an aviation background John is poised to offer this service to the industry and it's something that I think will become more widely used in the future with all that it offer turf managers.

I head down to the famous golf region of the Melbourne Sandbelt and into the newly redesigned Sandy Golf Links where I talk to Superintendent Geraldine O'Callaghan. One of very few female greenkeepers in Australia, Gerri talks about her background as an all round sports fan and her start as a mature aged student getting into the industry. From her humble beginnings growing up on the family farm in northern Victoria, all the way to working at one of the greatest golf courses in the world before taking charge as Superintendent at the redeveloped Sandy Links, Gerri's story is captivating. Hard working, grounded, humble and strong! Gerri is a fantastic leader of the greenkeeping industry and one that I think we can all look up to.

We discuss what a baptism of fire it has been as the owner of a golf club especially one with a difficult history. You'll hear about how Susan and her family business got involved at Talllwoods. Susan also talks about the passion they have for working hard with their team of staff to turn the tide of past negativity into a shining light of enjoyment so everyone can experience the tranquil and beautiful location that is Tallwoods.
