It's been an offseason of high drama and many moves.  The Seahawks have wheeled and dealed, added voided years on contracts, and done seemingly all they can to repair the somewhat fractured relationship between the Front Office/Carroll and Russell Wilson.  I've loved the offseason so far as these moves have shown the Seahawks are truly going for broke this year. By request, I'm going to begin putting replays of my YouTube livestream shows up for podcasting. 

The Seattle Seahawks re-signed Tyler Lockett to a major extension, 4 years, 69.9 million, with 37 million guaranteed.  It's a ton of money, but the Seahawks could ill-afford to lose him, especially considering his loss and the impact it might have on Russell Wilson's state of happiness with the team.  Another upshot is the deal seems to have sliced his cap hit this year in half, providing the Hawks with more cap space to go and do some more work.  We'll also continue to look at the prospects in the upcoming NFL draft.  Got a question about a prospect?  At this point, I've probably watched him, let's discuss.  And Finally, I think I finally saw a key indicator today that fully points to Russell Wilson coming back to the Seahawks.  Thanks for watching & Go Hawks!

The Cardinals made the first big move of the offseason, signing JJ Watt to a big new deal.  He'll now pair up with Chandler Jones, giving the Cardinals one of the best edge rushing units in the league.  Does this make them the favorite in the NFC West?  Not exactly, but the NFC just got tough.  On this podcast we'll also discuss the defensive Nascar package that was once so vital to the Seahawk teams of '12 and '13.  Can they rebuild that unit into a strength again this offseason?  I think so and will tell you how. We're in the dead period of the offseason, but it's never boring with our Seahawks.  Russell Wilson and his camp have been making their dissatisfaction with the direction of the team crystal clear, while the Front Office and Coach Carroll have remained silent.  Now the latest is reports that a third of the league has called Seattle about Russell's availability in a trade.  Supposedly the starting place is three first round picks.  Are we moving closer to a Wilson deal?  Can the relationship be repaired?  I go deep down this rabbit hole to search out the truth.

The offseason begins and I've finally gotten over the season's premature end.  The Seahawks won the division, but we all wanted so much more.  Thankfully, we already have some news to be optimistic about.  The Seahawks after quickly firing offensive coordinator Brian Shottenheimer have hired the Rams passing coordinator, Shane Waldron, the Rams passing coordinator and assistant coach.  I discuss the hire in this episode, and while I'm excited by the offensive future, certain aspects to this team's success on that side of the football will be outside of Waldron's control, and need to be addressed.  All that and more, on this Hawk's Nest Podcast!  Go Hawks!

The defense continues its rapid ascent towards a wholesale change from what we saw of them earlier in the season. The running game continues to also pick up steam. Russell continues to struggle. The Seattle Seahawks got right this week against the NFL's least, the New York Jets. Make no mistake, it was a nice win by our Seahawks and they did today what they've struggled to do this season, which is put down the lesser team early, and blow them out. The defense continues it's recent scintillating pace. Russell got back to cooking, the running game got back on track, and the energy of the team was overall so much better.  Hopefully this is where the run begins.  Go Hawks!
