  • Furness H2 - Charley Casserly's interview with Softy and Gas / Cheaper concessions: Why can't we do i there? / Softy
Charley Cassserly was on with Softy and Gas yesterday afternoon to discuss the Kyler Murray comments he made on the NFL Network. As Ian mentioned earlier, it's unprecedented to criticize a player so strongly solely based on the mental side of the game. Casserly did suggest there are places where Murray would fit, and the Cardinals could be one of them, and with Rosen available for trades, it seems like they've bought in on Murray despite all of the bad interview talk. Even if Murray is Kingsbury's guy, it's not like Kingsbury has proven himself as a coach at this point. He was moderately successful in college, and it's his first year with the Cardinals. This could be a disaster for Arizona, which is obviously great for us in Seattle. Concession prices at games are high. This comes as a surprise to no one, but why can't we do anything about it? In the new Atlanta Falcons stadium, concession prices are incredibly low, and it seems to be drawing in attendance. Ian explains what makes Atlanta different, and why it isn't as easy to duplicate, at least in the short-term. Softy pops in before his show with the returning Dick Fain.

  • Furness H1 - Stop telling these kids what to do / Gary Parrish on courtstorming, rankings / Something Good: Brandone Francis
We've talked before about the importance of sports at all levels of development, from the five-year-olds playing tee-ball on up. This is just as true at the college level. There's so much talk about players like Zion Williamson and what they should do, but we need to just let them make their own decisions. Stop trying to tell these kids which direction they should go. Every Tuesday at 1:20 Ian is joined by Gary Parrish for a look at the world of college basketball. Gary discuses the crazy incident between Utah State and Nevada over the weekend, and how much storming of the court may have escalated it. Is it time to crack down on courtestorming? As the rankings tend to differ later in the season, which one is the most important, and who should Husky fans be rooting for as the tournament gets closer? On something good, Brandone Francis at Texas Tech gets to see his mother for the first time in two years.

  • Furness H2 - Charley Casserly on NFL Network questions Kyler Murray's leadership, study habits, and board work / Texts / Softy
The Combine was this past weekend, and we found out that Kyler Murray was an inch or so taller than most thought, which should have helped his draft stock. Today though, new questions about Murray are popping up. Charley Casserly on the NFL Network says he's heard from multiple teams that Kyler Murray's interviews went worse than any quarterback touted so highly. With Murray's leadership, study habits, and board work all being called "not good" will the Cardinals still take him number one? Softy is joined by Mike Gastineau again today. He wonders if maybe Casserly is working for a team that wants Murray to drop further down in the draft.

  • Furness H1 - Part of the process / NBA players: Responsibility to the consumer / Frank Clark franchised / Something good: Airline edition
The Combine has concluded, and later in this show we'll hear from Rob Rang who will recap the whole thing. We're not going to dismiss the whole thing like some media outlets, calling it the "underwear Olympics", etc. Fans clearly care, and teams clearly care. When scouting before the draft, The Combine is an important part of the process. Ian and his son went to an NBA game while in Utah this weekend, and with so much talk about players like LeBron sitting out, skipping games, it made him wonder what the responsibility the players have to the consumer. If you've dropped potentially hundreds of dollars on tickets to see a player that suddenly isn't there, as a fan you're going to be pretty frustrated. This didn't used to happen in the league, and it doesn't happen now in other pro leagues like the NHL. Breaking news, the Seahawks have franchised Frank Clark. We all knew there was no way they'd let him go to free agency. On Something Good, Ian describes a couple of good things that happened on his flights to and from Salt Lake.

  • Furness H2 - A long-term deal will get done / NFLDraftScout's Rob Rang: Post-Combine / Texts: Something good / Softy: KJR Hall of Fame
It's official. Frank Clark has been franchised. Now the question is when they'll get a permanent deal done. More than likely they're going to want to get it done quickly because they've got other deals to strike coming up next season. Now that The Combine has wrapped up, we check in with Rob Rang again to get updated on everything we need to know from this weekend. On texts, a bonus Something God. Softy, who is working with Mike Gastineau today, on his theoretical inaugural KJR Hall of Fame class, if such a thing existed.

  • Furness H1 - Terry Blount fills in / Harper to the Phillies / Michael-Shawn Dugar at The Combine / Huskies lose to Call / Something good
Ian is out today. Terry Blount has steeped in for him this afternoon. As mentioned yesterday, Bryce Harper is on his way to Philly, signing a 13 year $330 million deal, keeping him under contract until he's 39. His numbers haven't been all that great the last couple of years, but if he can get right, he'll obviously be the keep piece for the Phillies who've actually spent very little on talent over the past several seasons. Michael-Shawn Dugar, Seahawks reporter for The Athletic is at his frst Combine ever. We get his thoughts on the experience, plus some thoughts on the Seahawks off-season. Can the Hawks keep the offensive line together? Will Baldwin recover from his current injuries? The Huskies lost to the worst team in the Pac-12, and possibly the worst team in a Power 5 conference last night. It's a bad loss, but are they now at risk of missing the tournament because of it? The Hawks loss is a tad depressing, so it's time to turn things around. Every day at 1:50 we tell you about something good happening in the world. Today, robotics students at Bonney Lake High School have found a way to turn any wheelchair into an electric wheelchair.

  • Furness H2 - Notes from around football: Manziel, Witten, and Pop Warner / Rob Rang on players to track at The Combine / Softy
Terry starts off the hour by covering some of the random notes from throughout football. Johnny Manziel has been kicked out of the CFL, so where does he go now? The XFL seems like the most logical landing spot. They're going to need the most help, and the NFL probably will step in and keep him out of the AAF. Jason Witten has decided to go back to the Cowboys. The Monday Night Football gig wasn't really working for him anyway. Pop Warner football is eliminating the 3-point stance. It might be the best way to prevent head-to-head collisions at the line. Rob Rang of NFLDraftScout is watching The Combine closely. He shares thoughts on Kyler Murray, Andre Dillard looking good, and other players to watch at The Combine. Softy is joined by Chuck Powell today. He steps in to react to the Husky loss last night.
