Maybe you're a hardcore football fan that loves a good defensive battle. Maybe yesterday was your ideal game. When the Rams punt on their first eight possessions, for most fans, there's little that's exciting about that game. If it wasn't clear before yesterday, it should be clear now; Bill Belichick is the greatest coach to ever do it. Adam Kilgore of the Washington Post describes the ways in which Bill Belichick outcoached Sean McVay and the Rams. A lot is being made about what happens to the Rams after this Super Bowl loss, and maybe McVay can figure out how to get the team back, but with a Seahawks team in the playoffs and improving, and a 49ers team that's also taken major steps forward, it's not going to be easy for them to win the division handily going forward.

The fact that the Seahawks haven't started negotiating with Russell Wilson on the next contract isn't a surprise. Look at the team's history. Look at th elast time they worked a deal with Russ. Frank Clark is the biggest priority right now. They've got plenty of time to make the deal. The odds for next year's Super Bowl winner are already out, and the top four teams are the last four teams to play this season. Not a huge surprise, but what is surprising is that there are nine teams with better odds in the NFC. We've left our brains at home today, and texts are quick to let us know. Football is by far the biggest sport in our city, our region, and the entire nation, and Sunday marks the official end of the season. If this week has shown us anything, it's that there is plenty of news outside of the football season to discuss. We've spent more time talking about Howard Schultz's too-little-too-late apology, and Dennis Ranahan's comments than we have about the game. Even though football season is over, we'll still be hear talking about all the biggest sports stories, next week, and all off-season.
