The Ian Furness Show

The Cougars may find themselves on the outside of the New Year's Six bowls, even after winning ten games. There are only 8 FBS teams with ten wins and yet they still might not get in. The Pac-12 may end up with only one team period. We've once again seen problems with the system as it is. Richard Sherman is back in town this weekend, facing the Hawks for the first time. There's been a lot said about him, positive and negative, but there's no denying his major impact on this team. When you think of the Super Bowl victory, you think of the LOB, and Sherman was the voice of the LOB. Bradley McDougald joins Ian from the VMAC to reflect on last Sunday's game, the impact Sherman had on the team, a 49ers scouting report, and more. Tim Brando talked to Cliff and Puck today, commenting on the College Football Playoff. We react to the conversation.

Mike Holmgren shares his thoughts on Richard Sherman, and looks at this weekend's Hawks matchup against the 49ers. Pete Carroll answered a lot of questions about Richard Sherman today during his press conference. Texts weigh in with thoughts on Sherman. The Bears are only giving 4.5 points? They're Shockey's Fact or Fiction pick. Softy joins Ian. Mike Leach might be teaching a class for some reason.

Tune in every Wednesday at 2pm to hear Mike Holmgren with Ian Furness on all things NFL and Seahawks. He is brought to you by El Gaucho, Masterpark, 30-10, Tacoma Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram, Redbox, and by Washington Gold Casinos

Most people didn't expect WSU to perform as well as they did this year. When recruiting is an issue, this is the type of offense that works best, and it's been successful, but it doesn't work well in the rain, the wind, or the snow. The nation's perception of the Pac-12 continues to slip, and there's plenty of reasons why. Larry Scott gets a lot of the blame, and deserves some of it, but the problems run deeper. Jed Collins and Alex Brink look at what happened during the Apple Cup, and what's next for the Cougs. There's still a great chance at a good bowl game.

Reuben Foster has been picked up by the Washington Redskins after the 49ers sent him packing following even more allegations involving the same woman who has accused him of abuse previously. Either he's guilty, or he's putting himself in a bad position and should no better. Either way, it's not smart for the Redskins to sign him. It does prove that the NFL cares about one thing above everything else, and that's winning. Like the Cougs, the Seahawks offense wasn't able to do what it's good at, but unlike the Cougs, they were able to adjust. As long as Pete Carroll is coach, never doubt the Hawks. Nigel Burton gives Ian some crap about the Apple Cup, and looks ahead to the Pac-12 Championship. Are Husky fans selling Utah short? The best outcome for the Hawks in Thursday night's game is for the Saints to beat the Cowboys. Ian says that'll happen; Saints win and cover. Softy hasn't had a chance to pour salt in the Apple Cup wound. He gets that chance today.

No better place to get your Cougars fix than Tuesdays at 1:20pm as Ian talks with former Cougs Alex Brink and Jed Collins. It's brought to you by No-Li Brewing: Brewing award winning beers since 2012 with no boundaries and a focus on local ingredients!

Ian and Ryland Spencer cover the world of high school football in Western Washington from top to bottom with focus on some of the best teams, best players, and most interesting stories.

Terry Blount is filling in today as Ian is out. The Seahawks got a huge win against the Panthers yesterday on the road. In typical Seahawks fashion, things didn't look great early, but the team came alive in the second half. Now they're 6-5 and on their way to winning 10 games and making the playoffs. Did anyone expect that before the season started? Hugh Millen joins Terry for Hardcore Football, looking at the 4th and 3 touchdown pass to David Moore, the McDougald interception, the 43-yard pass to Lockett, and more.
