Hello friends! It’s time for the latest installment of The Ice Garden’s NWHL-centric podcast hosted by Erica Ayala and Mike Murphy.

On this week’s F4P Erica and Mike talked about some of the recent big signings in NWHL free agency — including Shannon Szabados going to the Beauts — in addition to discussing NWHL draft picks who have registered for the CWHL Draft and the Whitecaps’ new rink. We also weighed in a bit on Hayley Wickenheiser’s recent comments about the need for one professional women’s league.

And of course, be sure to follow The Ice Garden’s Free Agency Tracker for all NWHL signings, retirements, and more in real time. Finally, we thank Hannah for her leadership as the outgoing TIG site manager and congratulate incoming manager Michelle Jay in this show. Check them out on the Top Shelf podcast!

Hannah and Michelle record a special episode of the podcast and react to Hayley Wickenheiser's comments about a potential women's hockey merger with the NHL (!!??!!) We talk about hopes and concerns and try to figure out what the heck is going on with the women's hockey landscape. Spoiler alert: there's a lot.

Hello women’s hockey fans:

Mike & Erica chat about the latest NWHL as of last week, Buffalo’s early start and more. At the time of this recording, Katie Burt was the first and only announced Boston Pride singing. Read more about Burt’s Boston roots in Mike’s piece for The Ice Garden.

We also discuss what the NWHL and CWHL need to learn from one another, including yes, #OneLeague. But, more importantly, we answer Dave’s question about Kiira Dosdall’s time with the cup.

For this episode, we also chat about Buffalo attracting players like Dani Cameranesi and Kelly Babstock. Of course, the Beauts shocked the women’s hockey world with their latest signing of Canadian keeper Shannon Szabados. Our patrons got early access to the full Szabados conference call, but all TIG Podcast Network fans are now able to access that interview.

Mike and Erica are wrapping up their 2017-18 season review just in time for things to start get reaaaally interesting in free agency. Kessel is back? Dani Cameranesi and Nicole Hensley are Beauts? What in the what? We’re going to have loads to talk about this offseason.

This week on the Founding 4 Podcast we take a look back at the Metropolitan Riveters’ unforgettable year. We cover all the bases — from the winning streak at the beginning of the year to Ashley Johnston lifting the Isobel Cup after three years of blood, sweat, and miles.

We were fortunate enough to be joined by NWHL veteran defender Kiira Dosdall, who talked to us about breakfast cereal, the key to the Rivs’ success, what she plans to do when it’s her turn to host Isobel, and more.
