It’s podcast number 13!

This week Erica and Mike break down two nail-biters from January 27, including arguably the best goaltending duel in NWHL history.

The other NWHL game from last weekend had Riveters fans chewing on their fingernails. The Whale took a quick two-goal lead, but allowed the Riveters to get back into the game with power play opportunities. The game eventually went into overtime where the Riveters scored with just 32 seconds left on the clock.

We also answer some listener questions, including a thought-provoking question about the NWHL’s officials.

Our NWHL Alumna Series continues with an interview with founding member of the New York Riveters, Sydney Kidd.

In the NWHL’s inaugural season Kidd skated with the New York Riveters after wrapping up her U Sports career with the University of Western Ontario. The smooth-skating Ontario native took shifts at both forward and defense for the Riveters that year and tallied four assists.

Today Kidd is playing in her home province as a member of the CWHL’s Toronto Furies. After a year away from the game Kidd is providing valuable depth and versatility to Toronto’s roster. Erica talks to Kidd about her role with the Furies and so much more in this special NWHL Alumna podcast.
