Kat is also a nurse and has touched the lives of countless patients with her attunement and care. She has taken on many roles ranging from hematology oncology to elementary school nurse. Her mission is to break generational trauma and to embrace emotions and our differences.

I think that can be tricky especially in the landscape of our world where there are so many differing voices. It can even be intimidating to try to speak your own mind.

Growing up as an Iranian-American female in Irvine, California, Avi has had a very colorful life thus far.

Born in Tehran, Iran in 1983, Avi and her family moved to Beverly Hills, CA in 1985 when she was only two years old. A few years later they moved to Irvine, CA where they would set roots for the next 28 years.

Avi got reacquainted with her high school acquaintance, Jack Styskal, while working as a college admissions director in Los Angeles in 2010 and was married early January of 2012. Jack and Avi have three beautiful children including a nine year old boy, and boy and girl twins who are 8. She now works with her husband, father-in-law, and sister-in-law at Kinley & Styskal Lawyers in Orange County, CA. Close to their home.

One way to think of confirmation bias is the tendency to find new evidence to confirm our existing beliefs, opinions or theories. It can be quite natural to do this, but the problem comes when we subconsciously confirm damaging comments from the past in ways that keep us silent or small. 

Today, Leslie Page and I are here to discuss how to consciously separate out the truth and consider other beliefs so that you can find freedom and no longer be bound by old narratives and criticisms. 

It can be quite a nuanced space to understand and undo, but this is absolutely possible and incredibly empowering.

Her career as a vocalist spans over 20 years singing with the the likes of legendary guitar player, Joe Walsh (The Eagles) Ringo Starr, Keith Urban, Vince Gill, Billy Gibbons, Rick Springfield, Zack Brown Band, Gary Clark Jr, Hunter Hayes, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Peaches and Herb, Richard Marx, Paul Rogers (Bad Company) and many more. In January, 2015, she was diagnosed with ALL Leukemia and received a bone marrow transplant in August of the same year. She will celebrate her 8th re-birthday this coming August. Leslie has faced many challenges in life but sees each one as an opportunity to learn and grow. She is thrilled to be a part of Sase’s podcast and share some things she has learned over the years!
