As humans, we tend to get so caught up in our lives, dwelling on the past or working hard and planning for the future, that we don't seem to have the time to simply appreciate and enjoy what we have now. Life never promised to be easy, which is why it is so important to take a pause, from the humdrum of daily living, to reflect, reassess and be present, be mindful of our current lives, because despite the challenges, there is always something to be grateful for. We need to strike a balance so as not to get so caught up in our past or focus soley on the future - we are here now, this moment is what we truly have, so let's live it to the fullest and embrace it. Every cloud has a silver lining, so rather than complain about the cloud, if we were to appreciate the beauty of that silver lining, wouldn't it make us feel better? When was the last time you were mindful of your surroundings and stopped to smell the roses or submerge yourself in silence, or simply be aware of the beauty of Nature? We are so distracted by technology, that at times we are oblivious of our surroundings or those around us or what they are saying. Sadly, then we miss out on what we think are little things, when in fact, they are not so little. When you are truly present, whether in the company of loved ones or out walking amidst Nature, when you involve yourself with single minded focus and stay present, mindful, life becomes more fulfilling, joyful and you feel more connected which is so important.
