States' Attorneys' General, like California's Rob Bonta, are confident that they have what it takes, joined with public interest groups, to stop Trump's assault on the sacred right to vote, before voting starts and while it is happening. AG Bonta joins Popok for an exclusive interview and briefing debunking Trump and his allies' voter fraud claims, filing 71 cases and counting against the Administration with 80 percent winning streak, and defeating Trump's inhumane and illegal immigration and detention policies.
Popok reports on Judge Cooper not only refusing to block his order that Trump's name needs to come down from the Kennedy Center ASAP, but also found that Trump is "perpetuating" "unlawful government conduct". While at the same time Judge Mehta next door made a ruling that impacts Trump's birthday bash at the White House on Sunday.
In breaking news, Senior Judge Brinkema, after telling the DOJ attorney, he was a "brave man" for coming into her courtroom with his arguments, preliminarily blocked the Trump beloved "anti weaponization" slush fund FROM THE BENCH, telling the DOJ lawyer that she did not believe his argument that he didn't know what AG Todd Blanche thought about the case because he hadn't "reached him." Popok is joined by Adam Klasfeld to provide some "in courtroom" color and play by play.
Popok reports on why Trump may have freaked out on Rep. Jamie Raskin early this morning, as his colleague Rep. Garcia demands that ALL Trump senior officials who conspired in the Sit Room to cover up the Epstein scandal and Trump's connections to it, be brought before Congress!
Popok reports on breaking news, that in a 9-0 decision the Supreme Court just blocked Trump's efforts to use hand picked red state federal prosecutors and judges to indict and convict his political targets. Now, in the 9-0 decision known as Abouammo, the Supreme Court ruled that, under the Constitution's strict "venue" requirements, a criminal defendant can only be prosecuted where he actually committed the main element of the crime, not where the prosecutors are running the investigation out of. That blocks Trump's efforts to use his hand picked prosecutors in Florida, his hand picked judge in Aileen Cannon, to indict his enemies in florida, especially the "grand conspiracy" investigation being run out of Florida against Intelligence Community members and former presidents like Obama who's acts that may form trhe basis of the indictment occurred n DC.
Popok pulls the mask off of Jay Clayton, who is a woefully incompetent golfing buddy of Trump and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and now the nominee to run 17 intelligence agencies with virtually no experience doing that. How does he know who to fire in the intelligence community if he doesn't know what they even do?
Popok is joined by senior HuffPo writer Paul Blumenthal, fresh off his new article: The Supreme Court is Illegitimate, to discuss what was the final straw and where do we go from here.
Trump is on a losing streak this week in one Miami federal courthouse in his BBC defamation case, as Judge Altman issues an order to show cause against Trump's lawyers for missing deadlines; the magistrate judge refuses to disqualify herself on allegations she is biased against Trump; and the judge promptly sends the issue of whether the BBC will get to serve 47 subpoenas on Trump World over to the magistrate judge who just refused to leave the case! Popok explains that this little followed case may end up being Trump's undoing.
Popok reports on a glitchy Trump who needs to be taken back to the factory to be reset, as he responds to abysmal inflation news of 4.2% with declaring his "love" for the inflation that is destroying America.
There is a big fat leak in the White House, and based on the detail of the reporting by the New York TImes, someone may have had a tape recorder! Popok comments on the new bombshell reporting by the New York Times/Maggie Haberman about the reason why Trump didn't want the Epstein files released, how his communications team thought pardoning Maxwell, a "trafficker of girls" was a "PR nightmare," and how Bondi and Blanche both screwed up and underestimated the public anger against Trump, using quotes that seem lifted from a recording!
