Popok does a deep dive on Robert Giuffra of Sullivan & Cromwell, and how his straddling the ethical fence has benefited his firm, including getting one of his partners a plum DOJ position.

Two federal judges are scrambling to rein in the lawless Trump Administration over its mistreatment of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, issuing sharp orders against the government this week. Michael Popok reports on Judge Crenshaw’s finding that Attorney General Pam Bondi and others made “troubling” comments that jeopardize Garcia’s Sixth Amendment right to a fair trial—and his order to stop it. Meanwhile, Judge Xinis has intervened to ensure Garcia is not further retaliated against by being sent to Liberia.

The former Jan 6 Committee chair, Bennie Thompson has declared that the Trump's destruction of a portion of the White House is nothing short of the "demolition" of the "heart of Nation" and is demanding answers from the American corporations who donated to a project that in his words has "left a gaping hole in the side of the White House." NY AG Leticia James, on the day of her arraignment on a frame job of a mortgage fraud indictment, has already filed multiple motions against Trump, his DOJ and Lindsey Halligan, to gag Halligan, get the indictment dismissed asap, and to put Halligan in a freezer and have the Court declare she has no power to prosecute anyone or anything. Popok reports.

The civil rights protestor who was violently arrested because he played the Imperial storm trooper theme from Star Wars, has, with the ACLU, filed a new federal suit against the Trump Administration and National Guard for First and Fourth Amendment violations, laying the blueprint for the thousands of similar suits that will flood the courts in response to Trump's unconstitutional attack on freedom of speech and dissent. As over 70 percent of Miami object to a $400 giveaway to Trump of a valuable property owned by the largest public university in America so he can build his "Presidential Library", lawyers have obtained a Temporary Restraining Order to stop the transfer of the 2.63 acre parcel next to The Ellis Island of Miami, the Freedom Tower.
