  • There But For The Grace of God Go I - Mike Neubauer Near Death Experience Anomaly

Real Estate Investor and Firefighter Mike Neubauer barely escaped death. Strangely enough, Mike's near death experience didn't come from fighting a fire. Mike's tragic experience is quite an anomaly or sorts. Some might credit a curse of the demonic for his near demise which caused the death of another before him. Some could say his near death experience is a chance of dumb luck. Others might say God caused Mike's ghastly experience. Mike himself doesn't fully know how to explain it. But what Mike can confidently attest to is the power of God's divine grace that saved him, when he should have died by all human rational.

As a firefighter & paramedic, Mike has attended and treated many people in tragic accidents. Mike knows when someone in that type of circumstance lives and dies. He fully understood in his circumstance, the likelihood of his survival was basically zero. But some amount of faith rose up in Mike, and as Mike put that faith into practice, Mike surprised the health professionals caring for him as he defied the odds. Mike can truly say, "There but for the grace of God go I..." because Mike should have been dead, but God's grace spared him, and has him living a thriving life today.

  • When You Get Tired Learn To Rest Not To Quit with Brett Snodgrass

You may have noticed we didn't post a podcast last week. That's because we needed a break! We're taking July off the podcast to rest and reflect.

We have a lot of dreams and plans for the future of Iron Deep. But implementing it all is a lot of work and can be tiresome with everything we're doing. We thought it was important to use July to rest a bit, instead of getting burnt out. It's important that when you get tired you learn to rest, not to quit.

In this time of rest, we're taking time to re-evaluate what we're doing and what's really going to be most fruitful for the whole Iron Deep community. It's important to have time to stop and reflect in this fast-paced world and ask our Father what He would have us do? So we're slightly course-correcting in our time of rest and reflection to hopefully bring better and deeper fruit for our community and for all of our viewers.

Socrates said, "An unexamined life is not worth living." Sometimes it can feel intimidating to stop and get quiet, and reflect inwardly. But that's one of the most important and helpful practices we can implement in our lives.

Stay tuned! We'll be back in August with new episodes. And make sure to check out our website IronDeep.com as we'll be updating it in the coming weeks to see all the new plans and events in store.

  • A Man's Guide Into The Second Half Of Life: Transitioning From Man To Sage With Chris Bruno

Young heroes dominate the narrative in books and films, but behind every one of them is another man that is all too often unspoken. That person is the sage. It is Harry Potter’s Dumbledore, Frodo’s Gandalf, and Luke Skywalker’s Yoda. It is the older, wiser male who is at the point in his life where he has nothing to prove anymore. Every man in this world is eventually going to get to that stage. Many would consider the second half of life as past a man’s prime. But to Chris Bruno, it is the pinnacle of the masculine journey. It is when we shape our legacy in the world. In this conversation with Brett Snodgrass, he unpacks everything there is to understand about this misunderstood stage of a man’s life. He teaches us how we can take on our new societal role as bearers of knowledge and wisdom, as holders of space for others, and as contented elders living in the present in this fast-paced world. Tune in and learn how you can navigate this journey when it’s time for you to take it!
