On this week's bumper episode of the pod Jonny is joined by special guest (though we still think of him as part of the furniture) Sam Robson, to review that wet, wild and wooly Levain Cup final that saw Nagoya triumph on penalties over Niigata.

It was also a seismic weekend in the J1 title race, and its advantage Kobe after the defending champions won on Friday night, with Hiroshima slipping up at home on Sunday to Kyoto, who themselves, like Shonan at FC Tokyo, practically sealed their safety. The guys chat about the ramifications at both ends of the table, round up all of the games, then look ahead to another national team squad selection, and the Matchday 36 slate.

There’s still plenty to play for in J2 and J3, and JTET co-hosts James Taylor, Jon Steele and Mike Innes are on hand with all you need to know. There was drama aplenty in the Emperor's Cup semi finals played on Sunday, and in Part 1 of this episode Alan Gibson joins Jonny and Ben to review the wins for Gamba Osaka and Kobe, setting up a Kansai Derby in the final at the National Stadium on November 23rd (to 44:20).

Then in Part 2 we round up the ACL and J1 action from last midweek, before looking ahead to Saturday's Levain Cup final, and the weekend's J1 fixtures.

Time was against the JTET crew this week, so the only option was for Jon Steele to record a quick-and-dirty solo mini-pod to review last weekend's J2 action!

In a brisk 8 minutes, Jon discusses defeats for the top 2 in Round 35, victory for third-placed Nagasaki, and the state of play in the relegation zone.

There's also the customary preview of this weekend's games (Round 36), which could see both Yokohama FC and Shimizu clinch promotion back to J1 (if they don't shit their pants like they did in Round 35).

At the top Hiroshima and Kobe maintained their terrific form, but it looks like curtains for Machida's title hopes after they were battered at home by Kawasaki.
