If you're like me, the only thing you really know about the refugee crisis hitting Europe is that it's a problem.
Right-wing news claims they are a bunch of twenty-something men who are flooding across the borders of Europe with the intention to cause terror and exploit the countries generous social welfare programs.
But about six months ago I met some folks with a very different story. It's group of seven filmmakers (all women by the way) who traveled to Greece to document the refugee crisis. The story their cameras tell is very different.
Today I've asked three of the women to come on the show to talk about their experience.
The film is due out for release later this year, and you can watch the trailer here: https://www.gofundme.com/Refugeeisnotmyname
Enjoy your weekend!

That is not a salacious headline with nothing to back it up. In fact, there is new testimony from a former CIA and FBI asset that claims millions were funneled to the Clinton Foundation by the Russians to facilitate the purchase of the nuclear company Uranium One.
It's an incredible story that shouldn't surprise you in the least especially if you've been following the many scandals to come out of the Clinton Foundation over the years.
Also, should the government force Tide to change the way it's detergent pods look? The answer is NO, but we'll discuss the ridiculous bill they've just submitted in New York.
Enjoy!

Lies and political doublespeak is always a problem in Washinton, and the president is no exception. After the market decline, he went to twitter criticizing the "market" for going down on the good economic news.
The reality is, the president was well aware of the problems in the stock market and predicted in 2016 that this would happen. Today he acts confused and angry. Typical politician nonsense. Take credit when things go well and act stupid when they don't.

The FBI probe has had an interesting turn. It seems lawyer Lisa Page in one of some 50,000 emails sent between her and her FBI lover reveal that then President Obama was in communication with FBI director James Comey and requested a full briefing on everything happening with the Clinton email scandal.
This was after he assured Chris Wallace and America that he did not talk with the Attorney General or the FBI director about ongoing investigations.
May will point out what a liar Obama is...which is true, but they will try to make it partisan when in fact all politicians lie. Just look at Trump's recent statements.
Nobody is looking out for you. Protect yourself, learn a new skill, study and increase your store of knowledge that gives you value in the market.

As you know, I never miss a chance to tell you how right I am. I'm quite fond of the phrase "don't doubt me." But this is the one thing I wish I were wrong about.
The stock market took a big tumble yesterday, and Although it's rebounded nicely off yesterdays close, there is still a massive amount of risk in the markets today.
A lot of people including banks and bond traders will tell you they're happy to see the volatility back in the market and if you're one of those people then more power to you.
But if you're one of the millions of Americans who are staring down the barrel of another 10, 20, even 50% decline in equity prices along with rising interest rates, the world does not look so rosy.
Today we'll discuss a little about where I think the market is going and what I think you might do to protect yourself.

North Korea is apparently months away from having a missile that can hit the US mainland. Is that true? Who knows but it's important we pay attention to the players and the moves they're making. I'm far less concerned about a nuclear attack by North Korea and far more concerned about an international incident that will plunge us into yet another costly and potentially unwinnable war.

Are we hypocrites when it comes to riots? We might be. After the Superbowl many Egle's fans set to the streets, turning over cars and generally being bad folks.
Yet the media (and much of America) shrugged it off as harmless fun rather than the serious crime it was. You contrast that with how those same outlets covered the riots in Baltimore or the protests in Charlottesville and you see how we may have a problem.
I just found the subject interesting, and if we have time, we'll discuss today.
Enjoy the show and don't forget to tell a friend!

Oh yeah, plenty to talk about today. Jay Powell was just sworn in as the new FED chair and boy did he have some nice things to say about the federal reserve. Apparently, the economy is healthy, and it's all because of the FED's tireless work.

We've talked about private policing before, but they're trying a version of it in the UK with great success. It turns out the private sector can do things better than the government can even when it comes to solving murders.

Finally, it looks like we're headed for another showdown over the budget. The US Treasury says we have enough money to pay our bills through the 28th of February. After that, we hit the debt ceiling and will have to start making cuts to keep things running.
This is why everyone hates politicians. They spend their days focused on things they've got no business dealing with and fail to do any of the work they're constitutionally mandated to do. SHAMEFUL!!
