  • The things that annoy me about other people show me what I dislike about myself.
The things that annoy me about other people show me what I really believe about myself. The is one of the weirdest ideas I have come across in my adult life and it is hard to believe at first, but once you are able to understand what you do no like about yourself it is much easier to be loving and accepting of others. I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • What greater treasures can we have than faith, courage, and love?
What greater treasures can we have in our lives today than love, faith, and courage? Aren't all the material things we chase really an effort to get faith, courage, and love? I know that most of my adult life I was obsessed with money, having a great job, and the material side of life. I thought that to be respected and be attractive to women I had to achieve these things, then the faith, courage, and love would follow. Today, I am thankful to see that faith, courage, and love are the ultimate gifts in life, and having these makes you more attractive to others. I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Depression relief strategies working for me today.
What works for me to get through my worst periods of depression? What do I mean by depression? I mean things like feel like life's not worth living anymore, life is just a big drag, life is full of too much frustration to continue on. In other words a state of despair and utter sadness. I spent a lot of my adult life feeling depressed, and today I have 3 phrases to help me each day.
    Ask for help.
    Don't make it worse.
    Do the next right thing.
I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • A deeper look at the past: why I like to keep an open mind regarding history.
A deeper look at history can provide peace of mind and even excitement about what exists today. I have spent most of my life with a narrow, self-righteous view of history, and I was overly accepting of the version of history I was taught in school. Today I am thankful to have more of an open mind regarding new ideas about history! I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • There is nothing wrong with you!
Can you see the next slide without disagreeing? There is nothing wrong with me. Why is that so hard to agree with? For me it is easier to start with you. There is nothing wrong with you. That I can agree with. I can see how you are perfect. What you see as wrong with you, I see as what makes you interesting. There is nothing you could tell me, that would stop me from loving you. I love you and everyone else because that is the only hope I have for loving me. Even if you dislike my videos, delete me as a friend, leave a one star review on my courses, I see you doing the best you can. What is really hard for me to do is be able to look in the mirror and see that there is nothing wrong with me. The only thing that makes it easier is proving everyday how lovable I must be, based on how lovable your are, and knowing that I am just like you. I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • With a good attitude, the things I want are given to me.
When you have a peaceful, happy, agreeable attitude the things you want will come to you with seemingly no effort. This may sound crazy, and I never would have believed this as a young adult. I grew up thinking I would have to work hard and make sacrifices to get things I wanted out of life. I told myself I would then be thankful upon receiving what I wanted. This was especially true when I was dating. There were times I desperately wanted a girlfriend, but at the time I wasn't worth dating because I wasn't a very pleasant person. It wasn't until I started acting like a good boyfriend that I found my wife Laura. If you want something in life, you must first be willing to play the part! I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Death was what I worked so hard to achieve most of my life.
Death was what I worked so hard to achieve most of my life. This on the surface may sound a bit extreme, so let me explain a bit more what I mean by this. As a young adult I worked hard to achieve a life of no limitations. I wanted to be able to do whatever I wanted, be whatever I wanted, and go wherever I wanted. Ultimately, I wanted to reach a point of security were I didn't have to work for anything. I wanted to be in a place free from pain, suffering, and consequence for my actions. So, what does this sound like? To me, this sounds like being dead. I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Honesty and effort instead of success and failure!
Today, I replace the words success and failure with honestly and effort. This makes a big difference in my life today because it helps me to focus on the things I can control. I used to think of everything in my life as a zero-sum game. In other words, I either succeeded or failed, and the effort I put into failure equated to a waste of time. I am thankful today to be able to focus on the honesty and effort I put into my work because it allows me to live a simple, peaceful life today. I hope this power thought is helpful for you, and I appreciate your feedback!

  • Life is filled with everyday opportunities for faith.
Life is filled with everyday opportunities for faith in yourself, those around, and your higher power. As a young adult I lacked faith, and life was difficult. When I use the word faith I don't necessarily mean in terms of a specific religion or god, I like to think of faith as a principle to live by. When you don't have faith in your life, you will often second guess yourself, be overly skeptical of others, and be mistrusting of those around you. I am thankful to have faith in my life today, and this empowers me to be the best person I can be.
