  • Day 101! The most helpful podcast episode ever?
What if making a better world together is as simple as making one small change today? How would we feel with knowing how we can solve all world's problems with each action we take today? Would we have the courage to take a leap of faith to try a new way of life or just keep doing what we know even when it is not working? Watch this video to explore how all of the challenges we fight against really are completely within our control today to fix. With the ripple effect of each of our efforts, our small actions today have the power to transform our personal lives, the lives of our family and friends, our communities, our countries, and the entire world we are a part of! While knowledge is power, action defines destiny. Will we create a destiny together going forward in beauty and grace or will we run as fast as we can to all jump off the cliff together while saying we had no other choice?
See another choice in this video which explains how a small and seemingly insignificant change in diet has a butterfly effect on everything else we do in life. When we take concrete steps to put the best fuel in our bodies every day, we each personally feel better giving us freedom from a few of our own personal problems like being fat, sick, and tired. The recommendations for what to eat shared in this video come from doctors with bestselling books based on the science used by the US government to determine what foods every person should eat every day. This needs to be shared because most of us are falling so short of simply putting the right fuel in our bodies that we are experiencing a worldwide shortage of food in some places while other countries eat so rich that we are poisoning those bodies to death. This simple change in diet fixes that entire imbalance. With that imbalance fixed, there is no longer any need for wars and wealth disparity. If everyone has enough to eat meaning not too much and not too little, we all have our needs easily met. As each of us becomes more healthy, happy, and productive, fixing everything else in the world is a simple matter of looking around and doing the next right thing.
So why is it so difficult for us even with this knowledge to apply it? As the video ends, we hope to come to an understanding together of the challenges that block us from testing this new way of eating. Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoy day 101 of Happier People podcast here with me, Jerry Banfield!

  • Day 100! How is life neutral and why does this help in every situation?
Hear how I am able to see the good and the bad in any situation today because this helps fantastically for accurately assessing new opportunities and seeking ways to improve! Today what you might see as a pure annoyance in my internet being down when I went to record this turned into a new Instagram marketing and learning opportunity by doing Instagram live for the first time today. As Skillshare introduced changes that I also initially was skeptical about, I realized that all I had to do was start looking for the gold and I would find it. With each new situation I face in life today, I realize there are ups and downs which helps me accurately decide what to do best. In looking for the potentials for gain and loss in each investment I make with my time and money, I am less likely to get pulled into things that seem purely good or lost in feeling hopeless because everything is bad. Even being sick for me today has the benefits of encouraging me to relax more and work less! My exercise for today is to be peacefully neutral as one that loves and enjoys everything while seeing the right and wrong equally with each step as a part of the whole. Thank you for reading this today and I hope you enjoy day 100 of Happier People podcast!

  • Day 99! How do I live through so many bad ideas?
Hear me answer the question why do I have so many bad ideas and enjoy stories of my perfect plans turning out not so great! Get the shirt shown in this episode at http://jerry.tips/2lqYqtw. Would you believe just two days after making a jobs page on my website at http://jerrybanfield.com/ and working to hire ethical hackers on Upwork to make tutorials that today I decided to close the project and not hire anyone? How was it possible for me to have what seemed like an amazing idea only to morph into a big waste of time and money for everyone within 48 hours? Today I am grateful that I consistently follow through with the ideas I have and am quick to quit on an approach that is not effective. For example, I have made hundreds of shirt designs as shown in this video most of which no one has bought not even me! Recently I started realizing that the bare minimum I needed to do was buy my own shirts! If I would not pay $20 for one I designed, then how was I supposed to sell them? When doing my project for penetration testers and Linux admins, I realized that I was using the precious small amount of time and energy that I charge so much for to try to launch a project that would require me to spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours to promote someone else's creative work! That is insane because I need that time just to do my own and why not just help teach people how to do what I do more instead of trying to control them with money and use what they create to make me more income? The entrepreneur in my head made the suggestion to start this en-devour seem so attractive because of looking at my past results. However, past results do not predict future behavior and the fact is that when I do my own work, I provide the most help. I am grateful today to be willing to quickly surrender on my less than optimum intentions and also to continue trying even though so many failures! I am confident I have what it takes to sell a lot of shirts, mugs, and merchandise BECAUSE I am willing to still keep trying after getting it wrong so many times!
Thank you very much for reading this today and I hope you enjoy day 99 of Happier People podcast here with me! My exercise for today is to ask throughout the day whether I am doing my work or avoiding it!

  • Day 98! Enter Zen From There!
See my newest shirt which says Enter Zen From There at http://jerry.tips/2kWmymT and hear why I love this saying! Eckhart Tolle first shared this with me in the story of the zen master and his student. The student sat with the master and asked how do I enter zen? As the master looked out at the mountains behind the student, he asked if the student could hear the river running. When the student put his hand to his ear and listened for a minute, he told the master that yes he could here it. “Enter Zen From There” the master said. For a minute, the student thought about this answer. Then, he asked the master what he would have said if he had not heard the river running in the background. The master said he would have replied “Enter Zen From There."
What do I love about this saying? The point is that zen is a state I aim to live in and wherever I am is the perfect place to enter it. Remembering this saying has often snapped me out of bad moods like self-pity, anger, depression, anxiety, and frustration because when I remember to “Enter Zen From There” I understand that the experience I am having is the exact motivation I need to go into my ideal state of zen which you might also call the peace of God or a feeling that life is good or happiness or joy or love or in the zone.
The more often I remember to enter zen from there, the more time I spend in desirable feelings and the less time I spend in fear, rage, jealously, and pain. I hope this shirt will help me remember this more often. Would you like to join me at http://jerry.tips/2kWmymT where you can order in any color and also get 51 other products such as women’s shirts, hoodies, mugs, and even a bed cover with this same saying on it or any other I add to the store? I am continuing to design more like it because I want to use the space on my clothing and on the objects in my life to represent the ideas most helpful to me because I want to remember them when I need them and maybe share the same with someone around me.
Thank you very much for reading this today and I hope you enjoy day 98 of Happier People podcast here with me! My exercise for today is to remember to enter zen from wherever I am in each moment of the day!

  • Day 96! Life After Udemy!
Hear what I learned after getting banned from Udemy and see how wonderful life has been after something that initially I was so afraid of! In 2016 I was one of the top Udemy instructors with 72 courses having earned over $620,000 within less than a year and a half including paying 4 contractors a full time wage to help me. The Udemy trust and safety team in June 2016 issued a "final account suspension" because of what they said were policy violations. This ban led to an immediate loss of 95% of my income which for most of us is what we dread the most in our financial lives. Amazingly, ending my teaching on Udemy and now switching to Skillshare at https://www.skillshare.com/r/jerrybanfield has been one of the best experiences of my life and has allowed me to learn so much that I am now grateful for Udemy's actions on my account because of the freedom they have given me. In teaching on Skillshare, I have a better deal to offer students. Instead of $10 or $9 for ONE course, I offer all my classes AND everyone else's classes on Skillshare for $0.99 for three months then $12 a month or $8 monthly if paid yearly for $96. This gives me an automatic email list which notifies new students every time I make a new class without the need to do a promo announcement and without the 2 per month limitation. Skillshare forces me to narrate all my classes which produces a pure experience for students unlike on Udemy where half my courses were narrated by others. In addition to being welcomed and able to assist Skillshare with building their business, I have done the same on Patreon at http://www.patreon.com/jerrybanfield where I am now offering services and rewards which I figured was not worth my time looking into on Udemy. Between teaching on Skillshare, I learned to sell my own courses with Teachable on my website and got 8 books published on Audible using ACX which I had been meaning to do for at least a year while on Udemy. Immediately after Udemy's decision to have me leave, I tried streaming video games full time and enjoy making the homepage on Twitch.tv within the first month along with connecting with thousands of fans around the world. I learned that I would rather not do gaming full time mainly because there are so many other great gamers who deserve the chance and so few people doing the rest of what I am doing in teaching these professional skills online full time. Today I am grateful for enduring my worst case scenario with Udemy because it has freed me to do even more online and to consider how I might be of best service to you more frequently instead of thinking about how I could become the top Udemy instructor. My exercise for today is to reflect on my gratitude for experiencing that which I was afraid of and to remember that in any other situation, these same principles apply. Thank you for reading this and I hope you enjoy day 96 of Happier People podcast!

  • Day 93! Why do I resist doing my best work?
What creative work have you been putting off and procrastinating on finishing? Writing a book? Launching a vlog or a podcast like this? Painting or making your own shirts? Today I know what I give to the world that is most valuable often will be what I most resist as well out of fear or rationalization or diversion. I am grateful to be learning finally to listen to the people around me for motivation to get back to doing what I can uniquely create the best and today I am finally uploading what I hope is one of the best video courses I have made before called Speaker Meeting 2017! It will be available to rent or buy on YouTube along with available for purchase on my website or as a free download for my Patreon members. My exercise today is to keep asking "What work would I love to do today that will help the most people?" and to let those answers guide my decisions today. Thank you for reading about day 93 of Happier people podcast with me!
