I met Chris in Pakistan for two expeditions. The first one was Laila Peak, and the second was Snow Lake.
Snow Lake was a wild time. It's the one expedition I recommend to all my adventurous friends. If you want to look into it further, check it out here.
Poem by Josh Lynott:
Titled Reminisce
Under tropical shadows I still exist,
a version of me that was true and real,
someone care free, just as the breeze
The shadow tells me stories
and I listen
You once walked like this
You once talked like this
You once thought like this
So I think
Walking through the shadows feels the same
Talking under the shadows sounds the same
Thinking under the shadows,
feels unfamiliar.
I reminisce on someone I once was
I see them, but I do not know them. I reminisce.A Note To The Runners: Get my book here.

Poem: Stinging eyes,
it must the cold, my hands agree.
One small tear,
escapes on the hour, every hour.
Unusually red,
a warning sign, do I listen?
The breeze asks
Why are you so sensitive?
Sunglasses on, no difference.
Gloves on, coat zipped.
Should have worn thermals.
My eyes still sting.
Left. Right.
I'll go left, you go right.
Two tears.
Three tears.
Cheek spasms.
Face melting, unfurling.
The burning behind my eyes disappear. It was never cold,
It was missing you.
My eyes missed you,
before you even left.

Surrender #1The trees choose not push through cement walls, growing over, and around, till the walls cannot take it any more, cracking. The light flows in,and the building becomes a castle,a masterpiece for it's breaking. A friendship gambles on sunlight, wishing, and playing, swinging anddancing, untilthe storm hits, only to find two heartsinsideplaying cards. trading aces.A mountain does not dare to break it's explorers, holding strong, holding weight, never moving, only whispering.Yet bones break, and souls wiltforgetting that trust is binding, and strength is found in release. so the mountain sighslaughing at thosewho didn't read the rules. Surrender #2Perfection is not what I ask of youYou do not need to go through this lifewithout scars, without ever falling.Every tumble is a question for the worldmeeting the earth with your hands, and your worries, and your fears, and your bones. And what will you do if they break? You do not pretend to be concerned, because the repair must have been destinedlong before you stepped on the mountain,or in front of the mirror. Meanwhile, perfection keeps you frozento a memory of yesterday, because elegance last a minuteand becomes fractured by the future.Perfection is dying to know what progress feels likeand how mother nature talks to it's lover, perfection is scared of beauty, because beauty has surrenderedto the aching, the breaking, the learning, the hurting, the trying, the testing, the loving, and the imperfection.

Poem:
You left the butter out to soften,
but it was me who melted.
On the side of the street in the yellow light,
I could be swimming in honey
drowning in sweetness
The bell peppers dry
taste hotter at summers end
but it's no sweat
not with you.
Breaking corn bread,
pulling fish bones,
holding hands,
staying up late.
All the while
the butter on the bench top
slowly softens,
just as I do.
day by day, i melt a little more.

Poem #1 by Brit de Groot:
Did you have your phone?
Did you tell someone where you were going?
Or when you'd be back?
Did you have your headphones in?
What was the time of day?
Was the path well lit?
I just wanted to run free,
to run without worry.
why couldn't I do that?
Why did the burden fall on me?
Poem#2 by Josh Lynott - Switching sides.
Switching sides,
left right, left right
car slowing
slower
slower
slower
eyes focused in,
not on the ocean
not on the moonlight
heart racing
da dum, da dum
she doesn't run from left to right,
she doesn't run at night.

Poem:
Turned up a little late,
clock read four, and I thought it was 8.
knocking tea over, glass shards below my bed
the floor mirrors up above, the feelings in my head.
you pay to play, a fun game when it's hot
the day you cool down,
quickly tying yourself in a knot.
this is the place where rhyming goes
when you move your legs but your arm throws
I'm clunky and out of time
tired before 3 but staying up till ten
rhythm lost
it's okay
it's okay
it's okay.
repetition will bring me back,
until then,
i'm a little late.
