The prosecutor is Matthew Van Houten, the elected Tompkins County district attorney.

• On October 1, 2026, Governor Kathy Hochul appointed Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor, taking the Cornell investigation out of his hands.
• Van Houten had already announced that he was reopening the investigation following renewed attention and the woman’s civil lawsuit. Hochul nevertheless said the handling of the original investigation had undermined confidence in his office. ABC News
• The criticism involves substantive investigative questions: whether prosecutors received and reviewed the woman’s complete statement, obtained relevant evidence, and interviewed her. Basically, a normal week in a country that desperately needs adult supervision.

Remember when everybody had a firm position on believing women?

Let’s see whether those positions survive contact with the names, the institution, and the political affiliations.

Because in America, principles apparently come with a donor lookup feature.

There will be statements. There will be demands. There will be enough institutional concern to fill a university brochure.

My question is: will there be a consistent standard?

What happened? What does the evidence establish? Who did their job? Who protected whom?

Those questions deserve answers before the public relations department graduates with honors.

Far more live in protected communities, where they can harass real Americans for having Old Glory flying, or some homage to Trump or political sanity.

These people send their kids to private schools, and if they can’t afford that, you can bet they live in districts where schools at least give students a fighting chance

In this weekend recap we revisit the culture clash happening in America. And it's not new.

Sometimes it’s a politician who runs as one thing and gets caught describing an entirely different set of priorities. Sometimes it’s a religious figure who takes two thousand years of Christianity and treats it like a group project with no adult supervision. And sometimes it’s a bar discovering that its customers, its principles, and its electric bill have entered a three-way custody battle.

That’s our show.

I’m going to give you the examples. I’ll tell you what I think they show, because these are my opinions and this is my microphone. You can make your own judgment. If you arrive somewhere else, that’s fine. At least we’ll both be looking at what happened instead of a slogan somebody paid to put in our feeds.

I believe good news for Democrats has become increasingly difficult to find unless it’s manufactured, purchased, or given an elaborate public-relations makeover. And when something happens organically? Caligula would ask people to settle down. A pope might ask for an early checkout.

Now, I know what happens whenever I say something like that. Somebody waits for the most horrifying story in the stack, then says, “Kevin, one criminal doesn’t represent an entire political movement.”

Agreed. A violent crime is a violent crime. The victim is a person, not a prop, and the accused gets the presumption of innocence. What interests me is how quickly public debate tries to turn every story into a loyalty test: which details are you permitted to notice, which questions are you allowed to ask, and when are you ordered to stop?

We’ll deal with one disturbing allegation briefly, then leave it where it belongs: with investigators and the courts. After that, we’ll spend time on people who chose to speak publicly, chose to seek office, or chose a policy for their own business.

There are some headlines that truly make me laugh. Here’s one:

In case you missed it, the US left Iraq. And no Marines were harmed in the exit strategy.

The State Department has revoked more than 250,000 visas since President Donald Trump took office, as the administration continues to crack down on unlawful immigration and increase vetting of who is allowed to visit the United States.

When have you ever heard of this happening, except under Trump. The fact that we haven’t should trouble you.

The revocations were for a variety of violations, including visa holders who violated the terms of their visas, committed crimes, called for violence against the U.S. or Americans, defrauded Americans, abused the immigration system, and endangered national security, a State Department official told Fox News Digital.

Among the visas revoked were 2,300 in connection with birth tourism, the practice of pregnant foreign nationals traveling to the U.S. specifically to give birth so their child automatically receives citizenship.

Campaign promises kept, which simultaneously debunked all the lies told on him by the Left.

Something has changed in America, and I do not mean the climate. Although somewhere at CNN, a panel of twelve people is blaming the weather on Donald Trump’s golf swing.

I mean the people who used to control the national story are losing control of the story. The media used to decide what mattered, Democrats decided what you were allowed to call it, and the permanent political class decided what would happen no matter how you voted. That was the arrangement. You could participate in democracy as long as you understood that the adults in Washington had already filled out your ballot in pencil.

But now the referees are getting thrown out of the stadium. CNN, MS NOW, and Politico have been barred from the White House grounds. CNN says it will continue covering the administration from outside. And I love that. CNN is now reporting on the White House the way a raccoon reports on a restaurant: pressed against the back window, furious that somebody locked the dumpster.

They say they will not be deterred. Deterred from what? For years, these outlets could stand twenty feet from the president and still miss the story by three time zones. Now they are outside the fence, which may actually improve their accuracy. At least from there, when they invent the news, they cannot blame the White House lighting.

And this is bigger than a press-pass fight. This entire show is about a political class discovering that its credentials no longer guarantee control. The media credential. The party credential. The nonprofit credential. The prosecutor’s badge. The judge’s robe. The famous family name carved into a government building. Americans were told all of those symbols represented authority. Increasingly, they represent immunity—immunity from being questioned, immunity from producing results, and immunity from admitting failure.

Today we are going to test all of it.

We are going to Greenland, where the man the Left called Putin’s puppet just helped block Russia and China from gaining a strategic foothold. We are going to New York, where a socialist congressional candidate seems eager to carry Mexico’s historic fight into the United States Congress. We are going to the Kennedy Center, where an institution named for Democrat royalty is facing a very unglamorous collision with money, maintenance, and Trump.

Then, in Hour Two, we get to the machinery underneath the show: elections that are barely competitive, tax-exempt organizations that may have confused charity with political warfare, prosecutors who will not prosecute, and judges who appear to believe the law is a menu—order what you like and send the rest back to the kitchen.

The theme is simple: who controls the controllers?
