This is the story of 2 teenage girls, Tamara Brooks and Jacqueline Marris, who were strangers before  the night of August 1, 2002 when both of them were kidnapped by a fugitive who already had a warrant out for his arrest for a prior sexual assault - Roy Dean Ratliff.   When the news hit the media that these two girls were abducted, most feared the worst.  There was a plot twist, though - they fought back, the brutalized their captor, the fought for their lives and they won.

An Update On The 2013 Death Of Valdosta Georgia High School Senior Kendrick Johnson With Guest Host Justin Rimmel From The Mysterious Circumstances Podcast

This is an update on the  death of Kendrick Johnson of Valdosta, Georgia.  On January 11, 2013, Kendrick was found inside a rolled up wrestling map that was standing up vertically inside the gym at his high school.  His death was ruled accidental, but when his family had a second autopsy conducted, it was determined he died from blunt force trauma.  After the US Attorney in Georgia had a formal review, they determined in 2016 there would be no criminal charges filed.  Kendrick's family has been fighting for justice ever since and have even called for a third autopsy, but they've also been accused of mishandling their own son's case by allegedly making up evidence to try and support the claim that Kendrick's death was a homicide.  This is an update on where the case stands now.

In 1972, 7 year old Steven Stayner was abducted by Kenneth Parnell and held captive for more than 7 years, passing him off as his son.  When he was getting too old for Parnell’s taste, he abducted 5 year old Timothy White.  But Steven was not about to let Timothy suffer the same fate as he had, so he took Timothy and escaped.  Both boys made their way home, and Steven was hailed a hero.  But life wasn’t easy for Steven, trying to fit back into his family after so much time.  And as it would turn out, the most resentful of in the wake of Steven’s return was his own brother Cary.  Years later, Cary would embark on a violent journey, in some kind of twisted way to link himself to crimes more infamous than the one his brother was a victim of.  WARNING:  This episode contains details of child sexual abuse, sexual assault, rape, violent deaths, with many graphic details that may not be suitable for all listeners.  Listener discretion is advised.

Jennifer and Sarah Hart were the adoptive parents of 2 sets of siblings, six children in all.  In March of 2018, Jennifer Hart drove her SUV occupied by all 8 of the Hart family off a Northern California cliff side, plunging 100 feet onto the jagged surf below, killing all 8.  What would lead a seemingly loving mother to commit such a horrific act?  

The Hart family murders was a murder–suicide that occurred on March 26, 2018, in Mendocino County, California. Jennifer Hart and her wife, Sarah Hart, murdered their 6 adopted children: Ciera (12), Abigail (14), Jeremiah (14), Devonte (15), Hannah (16), and Markis (19) when Jennifer drove the family's sport utility vehicle off a cliff. Jennifer was in the driver’s seat, and Sarah was in the front passenger seat.

The Iskenderian family immigrated to the US after Lebanon became embroiled in a years long civil war.  They brought with them the family business, hoping to use it as their vehicle to chase the American Dream - the secret family recipes of Zankou Chicken, dishes that go back generations.  And when they opened their first location in Hollywood in 1983, it was an immediate success.  The business grew…but before long, the family would become divided over who would control the bustling and growing business when word came the one in charge of the whole thing was stricken with cancer.  And he would unilaterally make a decision that would divide the family forever.
