We're celebrating 1 year in a week or so, and as such, oh do we have something special for y'all! We return to Sci-fi and chat on Philip K. Dick's "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" along with the original Blade Runner, in a special episode over these incredible works and how they illuminate capitalism for us.
Once more we talk about dystopia, the miseries brought by capitalism, the control and the violence, even in the post-apocalypse.
Thank you for 1 year of your support comrades!!!

Happy New Year!!! We're back in 2020 with an intriguing short story from early 20th Century Japanese writer Ryunosuke Akutagawa, and his "In a Bamboo Grove"
CW on rape, suicide and violence.
We talk about Truth, how it can be such a difficult and flimsy thing, along with the power and violence of the State, and the death machine that is the US. Starting out in style! Enjoy!

Greetings comrades! As the year draws to a close, and we were dissatisfied with our Halloween Spooky performance, we decided to tackle one last text on this line. We read and discussed Edgar Allan Poe's "The Black Cat"!
It was a fantastic discussion on violence, the conditions of modernity, how we as Leftists should think about them, and we even touched on violence towards women! Very full discussion on a powerful, if horrifying and fantastic text! Enjoy!!

In this Spooky Halloween Special we once again team up with Jon and Ash of the Horror Vanguard, as we delve into the darkest crypts of the Vampire Castle and... Find most fun, spooky and interesting readings! It is an incredible discussion on the vampire yesterday and today, and how we can both understand it, and oppose it when necessary. Beyond that, we discuss the rse of capitalism, colonialism, and, evidently, Gothic Marxism!
We hope you enjoy this extra long episode to make up for our rushed routine and still make the spooky season valuable and worthwhile! Happy Halloween Comrades!!

Hello everyone! We've been very busy preparing and planning some really interesting and cool stuff! Unfortunately, it meant that editing and preparing new episodes has slowed down a bit.
As a thank you for your constant following, listening, and all that, we're - also as a way to encourage folks - unlocking one of our first few Patreon Poetry Club episodes! It's a fun, relaxed, intimate, if still serious, discussion on Charles Baudelaire's "L'Albatros - The Albatross"
We hope you enjoy and stay tuned! We have a couple of spooky surprises for October as of yet!!!

Spooky times! This is our Pre-Halloween episode! In it we delve into the famous horror writer, and many of his problems, H. P. Lovecraft!
As we reflect on the very peculiar and completely horrifying "The Color Out Of Space", we consider Climate Change, the Horror genre in writing, what ticks off Frank about it, and how can we, still, use problematic works and even authors to think about our world critically.
Spooky times are coming! Brace yourselves!!

This time we look at a fascinating work by the Cuban/Italian writer and Communist Ítalo Calvino, from 1972: Invisible Cities! It's an incredible novel about our world, despite being incredibly far from it, in its stories.
So come along on this journey of ours as we reflect on cities, memory, nature, and how we would all be better off without capitalism! It's a slightly shorter one, but really fun and interesting, for sure!
