Black, Asian and ethnic minority employees are losing out on £3.2bn a year in wages compared to white colleagues doing the same work, according to a study that adds to pressure on the government to introduce mandatory reporting of race pay gaps.
Ministers have been urged to press ahead with proposals to force large firms to report their ethnicity pay gap, after the research showed the extent of the salary disparity for Britain’s 1.9 million black, Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and other minority workers.
After taking account of differences in average qualifications and job types, the analysis by the Resolution Foundation found the gap rose to as much as 17%, or £3.90 an hour, for black male graduates’ pay.

After giving birth, you might feel like you'll never have sex again. But you will heal and your interest in sex will return. For many women, this happens within 1-3 months of your baby's birth, but it's normal for it to take longer. ... By 12 weeks after giving birth, almost 80% of first-time mums had tried having sex.

Hey man, it’s nice to finally meet you and have an open discussion outside of our forced environments. I know, we see each other a lot and it’s weird that we’re only having this conversation now. But I’m glad we’re having it. It stands to reason that we should be more than cordial and, well, downright friendly to one another too.
Now, I’ll admit that our interactions, while limited, have been somewhat awkward and I think I have an idea why. See, I’m black and you’re not and I get the feeling that you don’t really know many black people or, at least, you probably don’t have many if any black friends. That’s cool. I get it. We’re only 13 percent of the population so we may be hard to find in your social circles. But, here I am and there you are and it looks like you’re about to make a black friend so let’s put our cards on the table and answer some honest questions. Cool?

Violent crimes, such as murders and gun and knife crime, account for around one per cent of all crime. But the impact of them on society is huge in terms of lives and communities destroyed. So it is concerning that in recent years the number of these offences being reported have started to rise in England and Wales.
This trend is at least partly due to the county lines phenomenon in which drug-selling gangs from major urban areas such as London, Birmingham and Liverpool exploit children, young people and vulnerable adults to commit crimes and supply drugs to markets elsewhere.
Councils have had to prioritise protecting the most vulnerable in recent years and are well aware of the growing number of children in care or young people with mental health problems who are particularly susceptible to exploitation by these criminal networks.
As the case studies in this report show, councils are stepping up to the challenge. There are universal interventions that target whole populations, such as Liverpool’s work with secondary schools across the city. Other projects are more targeted, helping those young people who are beginning to fall into a life of crime.

Conservative leadership frontrunner Boris Johnson has been called a "racist" in the House of Commons and accused of "stoking division".
In a fierce assault on the Tory candidate, who is widely expected to be the next prime minister, the SNP's Westminster leader Ian Blackford listed a series of Mr Johnson's past remarks.
Mr Blackford claimed the former foreign secretary is "not fit" to enter 10 Downing Street and challenged Theresa May to offer her own view on the man who could replace her.

Playlists are in the process of slaughtering the rap radio star. An artist’s career can be launched into the stratosphere if a buzzing song is placed on a popular playlist. The world’s biggest streaming service has created an ecosystem integral to the future of most musicians, and so far, Dope Black Dads hasn't embraced this new playing field, until now.
