Welcome back! This episode I am joined by Mental Skills Coach and Basketball aficionado (I hope thats the right word) Coach Dan Ourian. Like many of us, Coach Dan's NBA dreams were cut short due to reality, so he shifted his focus to coaching. He spent time coaching in NY, overseas, and in the Bay Area at a variety of levels. Coaching then shifted his attention to the mental side of the game where he now serves as the Assistant Director of the Applied Sport and Performance Psychology program at Dominican University.
In this episode we talk about the impact of basketball/sports on society, his role as a coach and that shift from basketball focused to mental skills focused, and the role of mindfulness is todays performance settings.
