Dave and Bill shared some of the highlights from their Father's Day weekend as we started the show. Towards the end of last week, Dave, Bill and Carmen flew to Nashville to spend some time with a few artists. But there were some big flight delays for Carmen on the way there and Dave and Bill had a similar experience on the way back. 

While in Nashville, Carmen went to the symphony with some friends and their daughters to hear cartoon theme songs performed by the orchestra. 

Dave told us about a new fashion trend that we think has hit rock bottom and won't last long. And the Colorad Rockies have set a trend of hitting rock bottom as well. 

Bill shared some thoughts from his brother on sports and Father's Day as well as the findings of a study on Biblical Fatherhood. 

Dave wanted to know if we would rather give up our phones or coffee. The answer was pretty easy for us. Dave's granddaughters made some interesting choices as well this weekend.

Sometimes you gotta take the good with the bad. Hitch could do nothing but laugh when he shared the story of his day that was filled with all sorts of challenges. 

Carmen got some bad news as did many other listeners when an email came from Paige Brown letting everyone know that she will not be streaming her Bible Study session online. We're sure she's got a good reason. 

Bill thinks he might have missed out on something good when he learned that a Dolly Parton-owned Pirate Dinner Show was opening in Panama City Beach when he was there over the weekend. He might have to take his wife back rather than going to St. Augustine, which, in his wife's mind, is a bad idea. 

Dave is hoping for good things to happen for his LSU Tigers baseball team as they begin the College World Series in Omaha. 

In other college sports news, Carmen is happy to see Sam Ponder back on social media. 

Bill gave us a good reminder from Zephaniah 3 and it reminded Dave of Susan O'Donnell, his former on-air partner from Houston and her sign-off. 

Jules was happy to see pictures from her daughter's mission trip on the church's social media feed but had to wonder if her daughter was up to no good. 

Are Capri pants still a good idea? Depends on who you ask. 

Like a good neighbor, Steve is there, for Bill at least. Bill told us how his neighbor, Steve, helped out around the house while he was gone. 

Dave's granddaughter, Emmie, was happy to see the neighbor girls near Dave's house when she was in town. Emmie had a little bit of a bad attitude when the neighbor girls went off to play with some other friends.

Bill is back after a getaway to visit family and celebrate his wedding anniversary with his bride, Kimberly. Bill revealed that he's got some family ties to Alabama and now Carmen's wondering if she and Bill are related! 

Dave saw a Timehop from a visit to Universal Studios 15 years ago and thought that the new ride that they went on had made some revolutionary work in the special effects while they stood in line.

Dave's got some houseflies in the house with all the grandkids that were in town leaving the sliding glass door open. That was quite the revelation for Carmen who hasn't seen a fly since moving to Florida. 

Carmen's been wearing her new Oura ring lately and she has had a few revelations about the sleep she is actually getting. And it was a revelation to her that there is an Oura ring caffeine experiment as well. 

A few different visits to Dollar Tree has revealed to Bill all that is available at the discount store. 

We were surprised to learn that the iconic voice behind the Motel 6 ads is no longer working with the hotel chain.

When Joel and Luke Smallbone came to town for a visit, Carmen made them all go to Dutch Bros for a taste test of their cold brew. She caught it all on video and now you can see what everyone thinks of her new favorite cold brew option. 

You may enjoy some perks of being a Costco member but using your Costco ID with TSA won't fly anymore! Dave told us how some folks have tried to use that in place of the Real ID that is now required. 

And speaking of Costco, Carmen is considering a membership once we move the studios to our new location and she can't wait to taste all the things.

Part of the fun of getting a new building is picking out paint colors. And with the help of our interior designer, Kelly, Carmen is expanding her taste in certain color palettes.

It takes a lot of sweat equity to make a log cabin. It takes even more to move that cabin. 

Today marks 21 years of working at The JOY FM for Carmen. She reflected on her time her and Dave spent some time reflecting on his second stint here which will hit the 20-year mark in a couple of weeks.

Dave spent some time getting back into a routine this weekend and also shared a story about and elephant that used his trunk to reach some fresh produce in a Thai grocery store.

As Dave spent time reaching for things around the house that his granddaughter left behind, he also spent some time celebrating LSU reaching the next round in the Men's College World Series. We also learned what other teams reached the next round.

A friend of Dave's tried to make it to Emilie's Celebration of Life service last week but ended up getting sick. She shared a picture of a dress that she reached into her closet for that she was going to wear and is now offering to his daughter-in-law.

A piece of movie memoribilia is missing and Dave's got a piece of memoribilia that he's not sure he wants to know about.

Dave's son mowed his yard for him but it's been awhile since he operated one that isn't a robot. Carmen's very happy with her new dishwasher.

Bill is out on vacation today, which is much different than the usual vacation time that we take. 

Dave's kids are all headed out and back to their respective homes. 

When Carmen can take a break, she'll pull out her phone and play some of the games from The New York Times. She had never heard of the word in today's Wordle puzzle, but she did enjoy the mini crossword puzzle and thought Dave would enjoy it as well. 

A tree in Dave's yard needed to be taken out after his grandson deemed that it was dead. 

Carmen's got a bit of a tree-trimming dilemma. 

Carmen broke out a new food find from Trader Joe's and is afraid they'll run out of it now that she's talked about it. Dave brought out his Grandma's Potato Salad recipe and now his daughter-in-law can't get enough of it! 

Carmen is working on a way to make the "Let Me Pray About It" hats available. But, in the meantime, she's giving out a couple to some winners that break out their phones and jump into a pool fully clothed, yelling, ""Let Me Pray About It!" 

Dave took the grandkids to the park last night and would have had to find a way to break out, had it not been for the woman who made a very loud announcement.

If you are a recent college graduate, Carmen came across a very smart way to respond to a job rejection. As she was reading that list off, Bill noticed that Carmen got new glasses, which she only uses for reading. 

Bill's got a summer read that isn't like most summer reads out there. And if you are interested in the history of paperbacks, leave it to our resident bookworm to make you feel smarter. 

Jules sister had some time booked at the hospital for a surgical procedure while she battles breast cancer. Jules offered to spend the night with her in the hospital and got a surprising wake-up call in the middle of the night. 

Carmen is trying to figure out what to do with all the old books she has on her Kindle. Her daughter, Haley, had a suggestion of an app that helps you get digital copies of a book from your local library. 

When a large delivery order is sent to a restaurant, it might feel like reading a book for the employees. Dave and his family sent a large order in for burgers and one of those was missing when the delivery was made so his youngest son booked it to the restaurant to get a fresh burger for his wife. 

As Dave was discussing pickles, Carmen thumbed through her phone to find a favorite option.

Bill is heading out of town soon and was looking for another family member to care for his houseplants but didn't get any volunteers. 

Dave cares for anything to do with LSU and as they continue to advance in the College Baseball tournament, he is having to stay up late to watch their games. 

As Christians, one way we can approach self-care and care for others is through grace. Carmen shared a few highlights from Pastor Aaron Burke on the gift of grace. 

A bear seemingly didn't have a care in the world as he frolicked in the gulf and then took a nap in the lobby of a condo building. 

We were a little careless yesterday and forgot to mention that it was the 39th anniversary of the station. But we know a lot of you care for us and the programming as you shared how long you've been listening with us. 

You might be a little more careful around the ocean if you've ever seen the movie JAWS. Dave told us that this year is the 50th anniversary of the film. And then he got a text from his son asking him to change the topic since they were headed to the beach.

Over the weekend, the Celebration of Life service was held for Dave's wife, Emilie. For that reason, Dave's house has been full of little ones with all his grandkids in town. There was also a very special moment in the service where a recording of Emilie singing was played along with the slideshow. That song came from her favorite Bible verse in Psalm 27. 

With all the grandkids at his house, Dave has been getting time to play with all of them and his time with Emmie was a mix of chasing lizards and imaginative time with fairies. 

Bill's son celebrated a birthday last night and his little one was very happy that they had an ice cream and cookie cake to celebrate. 

The brothers that are for King & Country were in town to visit with Dave, Bill and Carmen on  Friday. Since they had a little time before lunch, Carmen took them all to Dutch Bros to see what all the hype was about. And when they got to lunch, the table had them all feeling a little shorter. 

We got a couple of texts this morning that Bill brought to Carmen's attention. One was about a little sweet treat recommendation at Dollywood and the other was about Carmen's Summer Hat. So she prayed about it and had a quick little contest to give a couple away when she asked for listeners to text in how long they had gone without washing their hair. 

The responses were surprising and maybe a little gross!
