Imagine encountering every obstacle possible to pursue higher education. Many would have given up, but this only made our guest stronger to go after her big dreams.
Cristina Villanueva always knew she was meant for more. She immigrated to the United States as a child with her single mom and sister, and knew she wanted to accomplish the things her single mom never had a chance to do.
When it came time to start applying for college she was faced with the scary reality that she was not a U.S. citizen. As an outstanding student, with many university offers, she had no idea how she was going to afford school as an undocumented student, but luckily she had a mentor that wanted to pay it forward.
Since then Cristina has done everything in her power to pay it forward, by helping other Latino students and professionals get the tools they need to make their dreams come true.
Today, she is the COO of a tech startup called Negozee and the CEO of Ambas Financial, an all service tax company helping Latino owned business get their books in order.
On this episode Cristina shares:
-What helped her overcome so many obstacles
-How community and your people are so important in your journey.
-How to surround yourself with people who will support you
-How to become an intentional leader
