The Nostalgia Pit

It's bracket time folks! And of course that means we welcome in Drinks w/ Ron to douse us with his latest curation. This month, we flash back to Saturday nights in the 90s. No, we're not talking Adam Sandler, Mike Myers and all the SNL crew that dominated the decade...

As 80s and 90s babies, we just had to go with SNICK! Saturday night Nickelodeon programming. Some of it brand new shows, some just repackaged goods, SNICK! was a foundational part of many young minds.

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where you can access our brand new exclusive podcast: No5talgia! That’s right, an entire, brand new, exclusive podcast for our specialist supporters.

We broke down top 5 cartoon villains and this week we’ll release our top 5 PlayStation 1 games!! Ooooo… All I can say is, things may have gotten a little contentious, okay… Things may or may not have dissolved to blows being thrown… Make sure you subscribe to that Patreon to hear what Rob sounds like podcasting through a bloody nose.

Make sure you sign up for our live watch-a-longs, happening Tuesdays throughout 2026. We got Twin Peaks alternating with nostalgic movies all year. Free to sign up! Links in bio.

Alrighty then, lets get to it…

This week we welcome in professor of words and actor of voices, the wonderful Sean Daeley!

Sean is a teacher of both language arts and ESL, as well as a professional voice actor. But most importantly of all, Sean loves comics, animation, action figures, and (most) all things nostalgic, so we just had to get him in here.

Make sure you check out all of Sean’s works, as we’ll have his links in our episode description. We’ve also got our resident Spleen in the house. That’s right, the Brother Boogie himself is here in the mix and you know what that means. We got some Black Magic Noize at the end of the episode. Make sure you stay tuned for The Purge Volume 2 at the end. Link in the description.

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our patreon, where you can access our brand new exclusive podcast: No5talgia! That’s right, an entire, brand new, exclusive podcast for our specialist supporters.

Song Spelunker is back! It had (to quote Staind) been awhile since we'd thrown on our spelunker hats and dug deep into the sonic scenery of our nostalgia. This time, it's the 1996 smash hit Wannabe by the Spice Girls.

We also talk N64 game music and its capacity to be consumed in a live setting.

This week we welcome back our resident 90s expert the lovely Celina Flores! Celina's gonna explain it all about the flash in the pan fashion trend of the early 90s: Hype-R-Color (or HyperColor).

Clothes that change color with heat?! What more needs to be said! Sign me up! We talk all that plus Project Hail Mary, Zubaz pants, and the very problematic stylings of the one they call Mystikal.

This week we welcome back repeat guest Fresh Kils in order to discuss some of life's most controversial topics: which Super Soaker is best?! That's not all we discuss! Tune in to hear it all! And make sure you stick around til the end where we'll be playing the new single by Fresh Kils and Myer Clarity entitled "End of Days" featuring Roshin & DJ Versatile. Link below.

Peer pressure! It’s a real thing! And we at the Pit have been pressured by our peers to do attack some snacks. That’s right! SNACK ATTACK IS BACK, JACK. This one has been requested for a few years, but we wanted to wait until we had video until we did it.

One of the most beloved treats of the 90s and most missed sweet treats of a generation: the Butterfinger BBs. We dig into their history as well as the tie in to The Simpsons, and much more!

Today marks the end of an era. This is the LAST episode ever… …that I don’t have a working soundboard on air. Hope I didn’t scare ya there… But the Pit is growing. It’s changing. It’s morphing. Mightily, some might say…

We have some changes in the overall production of the show coming soon. More video content, more watchalongs, a bonus podcast for Patreon subscribers, and more outlined throughout the episode. But of course, that’s not all…

We dust off our Spelunkin’ hats to take a look at the 1997 smash hit Bitch by Meredith Brooks. We also look back at the 1986 cult classic film Labyrinth starring the enigmatic David Bowie. All this, and a bag of chips, this week, on the Nostalgia PIt.

And if you enjoy what we are doing here at the Pit and would like to support us further, please check us out our Patreon, where we have exclusive extended episodes! Today, we talk everything from bodkins to Braveheart.
