The Outdoors Show

Capt. Kevin and Jeff held down the fort this week, as Kirk was out of the studio this week doing some OSR – his annual South Dakota pheasant hunting trip.  Kirk called in and shared all kinds of stories about the hunt, as well as the travel getting there.  This gave the guys an opportunity […]

It was a tale of two waters this week, and depending on where you went, you could tell a happy tale or a sad story.  Or you could listen to this episode, because Capt. Kevin and Capt. Scott spill the beans about which one was which.  More importantly, you can find out which one WILL […]

It was a great day for the Outdoors Show, as we celebrated our 23rd birthday!!!  We are SO thankful to all of our listeners and sponsors – we couldn’t be here without YOU! In addition to the birthday celebration, the guys took a little time to talk about regulation news regarding both snapper and flounder, […]

So what is an angler to do if its raining so much that you can’t fish?  That was EXACTLY the problem for Capt. Kevin, Capt. Scott, and Ricky the Rookie (who happened to stop by and join the boys for the show).  The good weather went south – or went somewhere else, anyway – for […]

After a Thursday football broadcast, Jeff always gets the opportunity to head to the Georgia woods on the weekend.  That’s just what he did, so Capt. Kevin and Capt. Kirk held down the fort (until Jeff called in and hung around on the line for about an hour!).  There was A LOT to talk about… […]

The word of the day – well the past few days actually – is SMOOOOOOOOOTH.  The temps have cooled off, the water is perfect, and the fish are EXACTLY where Capt. Kevin and Capt. Scott know they’re supposed to be.  It’s just plain good…but will it stay that way?  Get the forecast for the rest […]

What a week!  The temperatures are dropping, the mullet are running, and the guys are tickled pink.  It looks like the blazing heat of summer is over, and if all those tropical storms and hurricanes steer clear of us, it’s looking like a spectacular fall for anything and everything outdoors. This is a great show […]

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Capt. Kevin – the weather’s been a hot mess, he got pancaked by a tarpon, and Capt. Scott whipped him in the mouth.  Put all that together, along with the arrival of deer season, and our friend is highly considering making a career change.  What’s he thinking?  […]

From coyotes and wild dogs.  Sharks and mosquitoes. Bees and hornets.  Every kind of equipment you can imagine.  If it can hurt you, or at the very least, cause you all kinds of problems, the guys talked about it, and listeners shared their stories, too!  Jeff returned from some OSR at his Georgia property, and […]

Mother Nature did her best to hold things up, but she couldn’t keep the mullet from running any longer.  After a couple of downright DEAD days early in the week, Capt. Kevin and Capt. Scott saw the mullet running like crazy on Wednesday!  Although they slowed down just a little bit on Thursday, First Coast […]
