Glenn Hammond: You got to include drum bay, there's a lot of hideaways down here, little mosquitoes have been everywhere, go down to Glen's, just enough to make some fish tacos, bull piggies, bait is still kind of scarce especially shrimp.

 

Brian Barrera: Doing a little bay fishing this morning, wind picked up just in time, chasing red fish and trout in shallow watters, first time bay fishing in about 5 days, been doing a good amount of juvenile tarpon fishing lately, uses 80 or 130 lb flouro carbon leader, had a little front come through wind is about 14 out of the north, catching lots of 15-25lb juvenile tarpon on light tackle and lures, how a trip with Captain Mickey and Johnny B would go, when was the last time Captain Mickey went down to South Padre, the Red Fish Rodeo is about to kickoff down here, how awesome it is that the ladies tournaments are so big, guides running trips off of jet skis, using the buddy system, the fishery needs good young fishing guides!

 

Kirk Stansel: Fishing guides are tired of construction and ready to get back to fishing, only a few trips happening soon, no more tropical weather please, it's only going to get better!

John Littleton: A bunch of hogs around the beltway, sometimes hogs aren't bad to eat, hearing hogs from across the highway, catching a few fish, weather changing everyday, water temperatures are down about 8-10 degrees, water clarity has improved, bass have started to move out from under boat docks, they're not giants but good 2-3 pounders, they'll stretch your line, has a tournament on Conroe and will go catch all of Richard's fish, just show up and wing it. It just tastes better.

Royce Simmons: Fishing pretty regularly, has a 2 man trip this morning, and a big group over the weekend, the white bass are out there but it is not consistent, but the catfish are steady, afternoons are almost picture perfect, no spillway gates open.

Texas City Dave calls in and gives us a report from the Dike.

Steve Hillman: The weather is nice, blowing a little bit so will start fishing at noon, fishing has been pretty good, caught 9 really quick yesterday, then it slowed down, yesterday had more activity, Wednesday was horrible, couldn't catch a cold. tournament toads, fish aren't showing themselves much, mostly 3-7 foot of water, a guide is only as good as his crew.

Mike Jeffcoat: Opening day of Squirrel season, there isn't an abundance of acorns, you may see some big deer get shot out of East Texas this year, every hunting camp could use a womans touch, teetering between needing a fire or not, BP check coming in for a restoration project, so many good hunting dogs now, what's your favorite way to eat squirrel? 

 

James Plaag: Yesterday was gorgeous, had some problems fixed on the little boat, and ended up playing golf, fished Monday weather was amazing before the front hit, had nice trout before they ran out of time, golf game is about to improve, losing money fishing, waiting for the repo man. 

 

Sharky Marquez: Had a chilly boat ride, just nice being out on the water, haven't seen any trout in the deep water around the jetties, just red fishing, but will target some flounder this morning, gonna get old bay boat and fish with dad this morning and throw some lures, throwing the pearl and the teal and orange mud minnow, good cool water temperature, where they're hard heads reds will be there too.

 

Randy Deerman: Sunday the wind blew like crazy, taking some chances, 30+ crappie days on the lake, not as many people on the lake once deer season opens.

Bill Watkins: We needed a relief, got out and fished Sunday and Monday, fish were biting good those days, throw something in the water and catch one, weird reds, broke and messed up tails, bunch of bottom dwelling mud apes, getting bites on any soft plastics, swarming specs, telemarketers will find anything!

 

Richard Tatsch: Two day tournament this weekend, need to produce, can't catch anything with much size, it's all about knowing where the big fish live and getting them to bite, catfish are still going crazy and eating, 150 fish off of one spot and just 10 throwbacks, and a fascination with topographical maps.

 

Charlie Paradowski: Getting ready to fight the elements, tides are still up, caught some solids, not many birds working, ready to see the shrimp come out of the marsh, don't beat up the future, hoping the gulf trout show up again this year, people like watching slot reds.

Lynn Smith: Tides are up lake is full of water, throwing topwaters and having success, getting stuck in a net, your boat getting away from you, lost ole jargo himself, you don't catch huge trout everyday, little fish will eat 24/7, the big ones keep you coming back, do deer remind you of dogs? They will run over you, crazy deer stories against the deer in the rut.

 

James Plaag: Yesterday was terrible, rough high seas, haven't seen anything, the tarpon have vanished, taking it all with a grain of salt, folks in Louisiana haven't seen a fish in three days, staging for migration,

Glenn Hammond: Light South West winds this week. But due south winds at 13 mph this morning, hint hint the surf was beautiful yesterday, lots of clean up due to Beta, what boat ramps are the best in the area, flags flying, and everything else going on in the area.

Tony Gonzalez: Lots of good looking deer in South Texas, the dog that finds deer, I think this is the one you missed, no crab claws please, changing the gameplan, predicted gusts up to 40mph tomorrow, you can have nice deer anywhere, a hot shell flying in your shirt, to feed or not to feed neighborhood deer? Some wild ruts and fights later in the year, and what rifle does Tony use?

Jeff Naylor: Brain eating amoeba is causing all sorts of problems, yellowfin possibly migrating closer towards the Texas coast, water clarity was not the best about 60-80 miles out, you can probably catch some nice mangroves on the shallower rock systems, not sure if Sharky is good luck on my boat, an absolute shark and barracuda fest, something happening to the boat, motor getting shaky.
