The manager of Deadshot says they told the singer's people earlier in the day that it was a small intimate venue unsuitable for large groups. We've had feedback from those who support the ban and those who see no harm in it.

The First Union says up to 40 jobs are going at the JNL mill at Kaitaia and they're worried it's the begining of the end.It's the second round of layoffs at JNL this year after the company shed 100 jobs at its Gisborne mill. Lonely Planet has been named as New Zealand's top destination.What they liked was art-house cinemas and live music. The seven contributing writers said Wellington is big on the unexpected and unconventional.

    The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) has come out with figures on spending on tertiary education. New Zealand is middle of the pack with about $15,000usd per student annually. The US spends twice that, $30,000usd per student a year, almost twice as much as the average. Money is spent on water parks on campus and climbing walls and wood fired pizza ovens in the cafeteria.

A deli worker in the US is being charged after chomping through nearly $13,000 of ham over eight years. And. A study in Nature Sustainability has demonstrated that vegetarian or pescatarian diets can reduce a country's water footprint by up to half. This has led to the idea of a "meat tax". Janine Reu-Taueki who works at a McDonalds in Hamilton says she was told by management not to speak te reo because of complaints from customers and staff.The rationale is that it was rude of her to converse this way.
