  • The Panel with Verity Johnson and Michelle Boag (Part 2)
A New York Times columnist turned off his news notifications, left social media and went back to the traditional newspaper for 2 months. What did he find? He says he was less anxious, had more time and remained just as informed about the world. We ask our panelists how they consume their news and whether they're interested in paper-only updates. What the Panelists Verity Johnson and Michelle Boag want to tak about. State agency Southern Response is being accused of intimidating by those it allegedly spied on. The government agency is in charge of settling quake claims of former AMI customers but is now under invetsigation by the State Services Commission. We ask lawyer ?? about what the rights investigation firms have and whether this practice is "normal" or not. New QV stats show house prices continue to rise around the country, particularly in the regions. Auckland has cooled and Christchurch is the only place that has actually fallen. It seems markets are surging outside the big cities. What trends are emerging now, and what's causing this change?

  • The Panel with Verity Johnson and Michelle Boag (Part 1)
Mayors and deputies around the country are meeting with Tourism minister Kelvin Davis in Wellington today over continuing issues of freedom campers. They're trying to come to a solution to the problem before next summer, after months of anger from locals about the messy behaviour of tourists. We talk to Tasman District Mayor Richard Kempthorne about his plan for councils to be able to issue instant fines. It's International Women's Day so the panelists will discuss where New Zeland is at for gender equality and empowerment. We seem to be doing better in politics, with new National leader Simon Bridges vowing to stack his front bench with women. In business though we seem to be slacking - a new report finding the proportion of women in leadership positions has hit an all time low. We bring in Miranda Burdon of Global Women to ask if this study is correct and what she's seeing in her work.
