It's that time of day again. What will you be doing this lovely 3PM? Are you going to catch up on your hobbies? Read a book? Connect with a loved one?

We all know what you do on 3PM. We know you're not proud of it, but you shouldn't be ashamed, either. Basically none of us do the 3PM things that we tell ourselves we should do. 

We are not just cruel to each other and to ourselves, we are cruel to the world. We might think our crimes against the natural world have little moral bearing because those beings less intelligent than us are inherently less valuable, and thus their suffering is less bad. That may be true, but when smaller amounts are piled up in the billions... perhaps when our ant hill is kicked, we will deserve it. 

Mythology, like all human creations, contravenes itself. Why must we always lie to each other? Why must we lie to ourselves? Are we really so uncomfortable with truth that we must mask our sins in story?

Yes. 

The answer's yes, obviously. 

Nothing infects wounds like regret.

Let's be honest. Thing's aren't going so hot here, are they? The future is being devoured as we speak. And the thing doing the devouring isn't even enjoying  it. You would think that there would at least be that. But no. 

The Purple Banners are here, there, everywhere. We must act, in large ways and in small. Otherwise we will soon be having conversations like this.

It's not a conversation. :)

They call them the Celestial Cage for a reason. But that sounds redundant, doesn't it? There is always reason behind names. 

And yet, sometimes there must be passion, and celebration. 

A lesson in moderation, even for times in which passion seems to be the best tool, the best method of survival.

Often times the worst reaction to crisis is panic. Panic is immediately satisfying, but when your threat lurks in the shadows, it is better to grab a light.

I drop a lot of strange details into my writings. (Almost) everything is meant to be bound together. And when all those details are taken into consideration, there are inevitably some questions. How could things be the way they are? And here are answers. Biased answers which, by their essence, cannot be completely correct, but they are better than nothing, eh?
