Hormone-driven breast cancer diets often fan the flames of food worry and fear leading to full-blown food trauma. If you no longer feel “normal” around food after your breast cancer, here are three reasons why you may be struggling.
Severe diet restrictions, cutting out foods you love, and trying to convince yourself you enjoy what you’re eating isn’t a diet approach you can live with forever. And honestly, think about this; when you eliminate sugar, caffeine, dairy, red meat, carbs, fats and every other food that makes you panic, you leave yourself very few options for making satisfying meals and snacks. No wonder the way you’re eating feels so hard! Tune in to today’s episode and learn the four things you need to counteract your unbalanced approach to post-treatment eating.

So many women finish treatment for hormone-driven breast cancer and struggle to navigate their alcohol consumption; it causes so much angst! In today’s episode I highlight the connection between alcohol and recurrence risk and guide you through an exercise in decision-making about your own approach to alcohol. If you feel guilty about your nightly wine or weekend martini habit, this is the episode for you!
If you’ve ever had an oncologist advise you to “eat everything in moderation”, you know how frustrating and challenging it can be to figure out what that actually means! Personally, I’m not a fan of moderation and in this episode I tell you exactly why that is. I also teach you about the concept of Intuitive Eating and offer three questions to ask yourself about “eating in moderation”. Don’t miss this one!
When you’re only imagining what food is doing TO you, it’s impossible to enjoy what you eat. Or feel satisfied by what you eat. Or eat anything without panic, anxiety and guilt.
Of course, after breast cancer treatment it’s smart to pay more attention to the food you eat and the health of your overall diet, but it’s NOT smart (nor helpful!) to obsess over every bite. I don’t want you to be afraid to enjoy your food, and in today’s episode I share some of it’s amazing benefits and reasons to make food your friend again.
