What happens when photography, culture, craftsmanship, and entrepreneurship come together?
On this episode of The P.H.Y.S Podcast, I sit down with two incredible creatives whose work demonstrates the power of collaboration and the endless possibilities that emerge when art meets innovation.
Joining me are Joseph Pekara, better known as Pharaoh171 Photography & Pharaoh171 Films, and Jordan Jurr, Canadian entrepreneur and co-owner of Wood & Slate in Colorado.
Joseph is one of the most influential photographers working in music and Indigenous fashion today. Through his photography and filmmaking, he has collaborated with some of the biggest names in entertainment and culture, including Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Wale, Wu-Tang Clan, DJ Snake, 50 Cent, Nappy Roots, Erica Banks, Hieroglyphics, and many more. His work is rooted in storytelling, culture, and preserving moments that matter.
Jordan, alongside his wife, has built Wood & Slate into a unique company dedicated to transforming photographs into custom works of art. Using materials such as Baltic birch, slate, white leather, and glass, Wood & Slate creates heirloom-quality pieces that allow people to experience photography in a completely new way.
Together, Joseph and Jordan share the story behind their creative partnership and discuss their exciting collaboration with The Ritz-Carlton Club Aspen Highlands, a project that brings together photography, Indigenous fashion, fine art, luxury presentation, and storytelling.
