In a remarkable bit of serendipity, this game wasn't a hit because you couldn't hit anything in it. Garry Winnick and Steve Purcell set about creating a quirky little brawler for the NES, and they made a comic to promote it. Then they made an animated series to promote it. And people were excited. Then they played the game and the whole house of cards came tumbling down.
Zoe joins us to talk about the introduction of Hunter Gathers, Brock's mentor at the OSI. Brock is called away on a special mission, forcing him to leave the Venture family in the hands of a freelance agent... Molotov Cocktease. While Mol attempts to whip the family into shape in the hopes that Brock will leave them for the mercenary life, Brock ventures to the tropics to eliminate a rogue agent whose identity will surprise him.

Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.

Reminder that you can read along with and ahead of the show by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited (we don't get paid for you doing that, so it's not an ad, it's just a cool service). You can also use Comixology, or buy the trades from your local comic book shop (the preferred method, if we're being honest). Be sure to check with your local library to see if they have them there! Kole, Ben, Dennis, and David talk about Bowser’s Fury, FUSER, and we ask you to pitch some game mashups.
The Grind:This month's Dispatch topic is what we're calling "Retro Peril", or the idea that playing a newer entry in a genre would stop you from enjoying classic entries if you went back to revisit them. Would it be impossible to find joy in Torment if you got used to the quality of life improvements in Disco Elysium?
We also answer your questions, and read your responses to February's games.

This month, we conclude our series on Tim and Eric's Bedtime Stories, a great horror comedy anthology show. We look at the last four episodes... "Angel Man" continues the story of Mr. Dimler and the otherworldly singer Scotty. "The Demotion" is about a desperately unhappy air traffic controller who gets a lot of people killed. "Squat" is all over the place. And finally, "Butter" is a legitimately horrifying tale of how kids from third world countries are exploited.
For at least the next two months, we're going back to talking about miscellaneous horror movies, starting with "Sorry to Bother You", a 2018 film by Boots Riley.
