Hate Floats is an important episode because it sets up the main conflict of season 2, and establishes the Monarch as the second protagonist of the series. The Monarch, having just escaped from jail, sets about putting his operation back together and attempting to get Dr. Girlfriend back from the transparent arms of Phantom Limb. And it just so happens that Rusty and the boys get caught in the crossfire of a conflict that has nothing to do with them.
Special thanks to Joshua Jarett for our cover art, Gwen May for our theme song, and Brayton Cameron for being our announcer.
Everything To Guppy is a bite-sized, four-times weekly comedy/gaming podcast in which Gary Butterfield (Watch Out For Fireballs) and William Hughes (The A.V. Club) attempt to analyze every single item, boss, character, and concept in the rogue-lite video game The Binding Of Isaac. They manage to pull it off only slightly less than 50 percent of the time.
We all know the stereotypical traits of nerds. Thick glasses, nasally voice... narcolepsy? Lester the Unlikely is a cinematic platformer, a la Out of This World or Prince of Persia, that highlights how important good level design is to that kind of game. However, if you're looking for a game that lets you punish turtles, this one's got your number.. Shredder.
If you step foot in Ash Lake, you'll be struck by the improbability of a sea of trees rising infinitely to a sky you cannot see. And if you've seen Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind, you'll think "this looks familiar".
It's impossible to deny that Hayao Miyazaki's work influenced Dark Souls, which is why we decided to cover it on this show. What we found was that the influences are relatively few and shallow... BUT, we also discovered that this pre-Ghibli classic has influenced an untold number of things we've consumed over the past three decades. While the plot and pacing left us wanting, the imagery, atmosphere, and sheer cultural importance of this work make it something we'd recommend checking out. Listen in to hear why.

Reminder that you can read along with and ahead of the show by subscribing to Marvel Unlimited (we don't get paid for you doing that, so it's not an ad, it's just a cool service). You can also use Comixology, or buy the trades from your local comic book shop (the preferred method, if we're being honest). Be sure to check with your local library to see if they have them there! It's a late-era PSX game that looks and plays like a launch-era PSX game, and all it has going for it is its sense of humor. You play as Mort, a chicken who must rescue baby chicks from the invading interdimensional cubes from Buillon.
It's a fantasy saga of high flying dragons and alien invasions where nothing at all happpens. This episode is our followup to the Companions of Xanth episode, this time featuring a fantasy series from Kole's childhood. Dragon Riders: Chronicles of Pern is a Dreamcast adventure game based on Anne McCaffrey's books about dragon riders who don't do very much.
