Tampa Bay Buccaneers insider Jon Ledyard joined the show. With the Steelers needing help on the defensive front, Jon said Ndamukong Suh would be a great addition. He said he’s very scheme diverse and has stayed healthy his entire career. He said he has limitations with his age, but in a rotation setting, he can definitely add to a defense. Jon said Suh in unemployed because he was holding out hope to remain in Tampa Bay, but with the Bucs making a move at that position, he won’t be returning there. Jon said Suh knows what he’s worth and will probably be in the market for 7-8 million dollars per year.

A former Steelers great is back in town for the first time since his departure. That’s right, it’s Antonio Brown. AB is performing tonight in South Side. Jason is tired of AB being newsworthy. Poni said people will always be attached to him because he is one of the greatest Steelers in team history. 

The Pirates are coming off a miraculous sweep of the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Jason was there. Jason said David Bednar WILL NOT BE TRADED by the deadline and has gone as far as saying Poni can give him an orange Mohawk. Poni said he would absolutely trade Bednar for a good return. The other name is Bryan Reynolds. Jason doesn’t think it’s likely Reynolds moves either, but the front office should be listening to every call, but he would have the price very high for both players. He said two Top 50 overall prospects in return should engage a discussion in the Pirates offices.

He said it’s not impossible for Suh to play in their system, but he is later in his career and has predominantly played in a 4-3 defense. He said Larry Ogunjobi wouldn’t be a problem, even though he was a member of the Browns during the Mason Rudolph-Myles Garrett fiasco. He said Larry was just defending a friend and teammate in the situation. He said if Ogunjobi gives them the best chance to win, they should try to sign him.

He said the Steelers should be open to picking up a veteran player. Ndamukong Suh is a player Chris asked Steve about – he said he can still play, but he should be at a limited capacity given his age. Steve talked about the pressure that’s put on the front seven with the absence of Tuitt, especially linebackers like Myles Jack and Devin Bush.

Mason Rudolph spoke to the media yesterday and had a subtle shot (or two) at Ben Roethlisberger. Poni questioned why Rudolph didn’t have the courage to stand up to Ben when he was still on the team. Chris is a fan of the move from Mason. The guys wondered if Rudolph knows his time in Pittsburgh is up and he’s taking these shots now. Poni questioned if he started off on the wrong foot with Ben and that’s why their relationship was never a good one.

He also doesn’t think Isaiahh Loudermilk and DeMarvin Leal should be expected to carry the load this year. Chris still wants the team to take a risk on a player like Larry Ogunjobi.

Jeff said it was another good week for Mitch Trubisky at OTAs and Anthony Miller backed up Trubisky’s struggles in Chicago not being all on him. Jeff commented on the Najee Harris weight gain and how good he looks in practices so far. He talked about how DeMarvin Leal looks, who may be forced into a bigger role with the Stephon Tuitt news. He said the offensive line has looked the same for the majority of OTAs, but they are actively working guys around to see the best fit.
