Former San Francisco 49er Eric Davis joined the guys to talk about the Jimmy G to the Steelers rumors. Eric said Jimmy G can win and he’s a tough QB. He talked about why Garoppolo is so beloved by his teammates and why he does his job so well. Eric also believes that Garoppolo is still a better QB than Trey Lance in San Fran, so if he stays put, he will be the man.

More with Aditi – Cam Heyward joined NFL Network yesterday to talk about the future of the Steelers. One of the names he mentioned was Stephon Tuitt. Aditi gave her thoughts on that and said it’s such a difficult situation to look at going forward. She said it obviously depended on if Tuitt wants to play again and said Heyward including his name in that soundbite makes her think there is something there. Aditi added that the absence of Tyson Alualu last year due to injury should not go unnoticed and how big of a return he will be to the defense.

ALL ACCESS w/ Aditi Kinkhabwala – Aditi started her chat talking about the results from the NFL Combine. Aditi talked about the Steelers situation and also shared her confidence a few years back that the Steelers would trade up for Devin Bush. The discussion then jumped to QBs as the three dissected what they watched last night compared to what the Steelers have on the roster. The names Mitch Trubisky and Tyrod Taylor came up as Aditi said those guys would be more worth having for a year or two instead of trading draft capital for one of the rookie QBs. One of the rookie options she mentioned was Desmond Ridder from Cincinnati.

Former Steeler turned PFF analyst Bruce Gradkowski joined the guys a few minutes into Friday’s show to recap what he saw from the QBs at the NFL Combine. Bruce surprised the guys by saying he wasn’t overly impressed by Malik Willis and even used the term “disappointed.” He liked what he saw from Kenny Pickett and said the hand size could be a slight issue, but he looked good all-around. Desmond Ridder was a quarterback that rose up some boards last night with his performance, according to Bruce. He also added what the difference was for him watching the combine versus a player’s pro day. 

Skyy Moore of Western Michigan is a player that caught Poni’s eye last night. Moore has the local connection by playing at Shady Side and being high school teammates with Dino Tomlin. The guys discussed if and when the Steelers should look to wide receiver in the draft. The “if” wasn’t much of a debate, but “when” was a different question. 

HOCKEY TALK! The Pens dominated the Lightning last night. Tampa head coach Jon Cooper got ejected and complained about the Pens not getting penalized throughout the game. The guys talked about coaches in sports getting ejected from games.
