Hour 4: It sounds like Dave Wannstedt thinks the Steelers approach should backup the notion that they are in support of Kenny Pickett. Does the Steelers move at a slow pace on things compared to the rest of the NFL? How many 1st round picks have been given up on by the Steelers within 3 seasons? We also brought up players that they may have given up on too soon that flourished elsewhere, like Kevin Dotson this season. 

Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo from the PG joined the show. Ray answered which positions have the starters on them right now. Ray doesn’t think Larry Ogunjobi gets cut because it makes more sense to do so next off-season. Ray is confident the Steelers would draft a corner in the 1st round if there is one on the board they view as highly as some of the top right tackles. Ray thinks it could be another year for Dan Moore starting at left tackle. What will they do with some of the other veterans that could be on the chopping block? Ray said receiver is a sneaky need for this team heading into the off-season.

Hour 3: We heard something from Mike Florio yesterday that made the guys’ ears perk up. Mike suggested the idea of Kirk Cousins and his people having mutual interest. People will complain and say it’s unrealistic, but what good does it do for the Cousins’ reps to throw the Steelers name out there? Does that prospect do anything for you as a Steelers fan? Another note from the chat with Mike is that the Falcons are one of the only other teams in the market for a QB this off-season.

Steve said he would avoid trading for Justin Fields if it involved a 2nd round pick, but said it does have the highest upside. Steve said he wouldn’t mind taking a flier on someone like Spencer Rattler in the middle rounds.

The guys asked Bret about his tour coming to town and how the son of Mike Tomlin is involved. Bret said he can’t wait to celebrate with the fans. Is he nervous to throw out the first pitch at PNC Park for the home opener? 

KDKA TV legend Bob Pompeani joined the show. Pomp recapped his Valentine’s Day plans…and some funny plans of the past. The guys asked Pomp what the Penguins can do to try and fix their issues. Bob said he is not ready to cut the cord on Mike Sullivan. Is there a fear in that building about what happens if the Penguins ice bad hockey teams for the next few seasons?
