After a fun October where we just did whatever the hell we wanted to, we're back to our coverage of the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. Since we recorded TWO shows on Freddy vs Jason way back when we covered the Friday the 13th series, we thought we'd invite our friend Nat Brehmer back onto the show to record another fan commentary. We hope you enjoy.

Mike is joined by his ten year old daughter Ada for a very special breakdown of an instant classic, Adam Sandler's HUBIE HALLOWEEN. This comedy just hits in all the feels, and it's going to be a yearly watch in our house. Mike and kiddo break down the film as well as the running gags like old ladies in filthy tee shirts and swiss army thermoses that make this one a surprising winner. Trust me, Mike wouldn't be more surprised if he woke up tomorrow with his face glued to the floor over how much he loved this one.

This week editor-in-chief of Daily Grindhouse, Jon Abrams joins us to talk about a movie we feel deserves more love during the October spooky season, the 2018 slasher Hell Fest. Also joining us this week is the writer of this film as well as the scribe of Leatherface & Hulu's YA show Light As A Feather, Seth M Sherman.

This week Jerry and Mike are joined by Chris LaMartina, co-writer and director of the cult classic WNUF Halloween Special. Chris talks about creating the aesthetic of a local UHF station in the 80s, the DIY spirit that fueled the creative process and guerilla marketing of the film and what he has in store for a sequel. This was without a doubt some of the most fun we've had talking to a filmmaker about his work, and we think you're gonna love this show.

This week we are joined by the "Wardrobe Mistress" Taffeta V to talk about the 1980 thriller /proto-slasher Fade to Black. Mike had an absolute blast talking to the Mistress about her longtime love for this cult classic, why Eric Binford is so misunderstood, and how the fashion and old school Hollywood charm helped this movie develop such a rabid following.

This week we're joined by Elm Street Radio head honcho and producer of the upcoming documentary FREDHEADS Diandra Lazor as well as horror journalist Michelle Eggen. In the years since its release (and commercial underperformance) Wes Craven's New Nightmare has become a critical and fan favorite for the series. Mike maintains he's been underwhelmed by it, but it's three on one this week, and maybe, just maybe he has a new appreciation for it. We talk Craven wrestling with his legacy, how the film make Freddy scary again, the difficult task for Heather in playing a heightened version of herself and how our own personal experience and memories with movies colors our long term perception of them. This was a fun conversation and (we think) a terrific episode.

This week we're joined by author Alyse Wax (Curious Goods: Behind the Scenes of Friday the 13th The Series; The World of It) and Nathan Smith (Grumpire, Daily Grindhouse) to talk about the nail in the coffin in the original Elm Street series, 1991's Freddy's Dead. Directed by Rachel Talalay, the Final Nightmare looks almost unrecognizable when compared to the early entries as the dark, scary boogeyman has been replaced by something out of a Looney Tunes cartoon. Was this the right direction to go, or had audiences grown tired of Freddy's bad dad jokes by the start of the grunge era?
